I will start by stating that the food is outstanding. I highly recommend their wings or the Nashville hot sandwich.
Prices were very fair on beer, however the manager and staff cannot make a martini to save their lives. My fiance ordered the Carmel apple martini off the menu, which they didn't have the ingredients for. They didn't have butterscotch, so instead of saying they couldn't make it, the manager improvised and used Makers instead. The drink was disgusting and a replacement was refused by the manager as according to her, made no mistake.
The service was incredibly sub par, especially as I, myself, had to ask FOUR times for another beer but the manager behind the bar was too busy being social with one patron to hand me a beer. This occurred 3 separate times on my beers and my fiances drinks. Priorities, right?
The atmosphere was the same as Diggers used to be, and Slotzys before it became Vitales. Very very rough crowd, staff showing their breasts as the night goes on, and the odor of Marijuana on the kitchen staff and servers was overwhelming.
I would not recommend this bar to any women going out alone, or honestly, with their significant other either. My fiance was absolutely uncomfortable with the environment, as was I on a safety standpoint.
I am not sure what was rescued about this bar, other that keeping the original dangerous vibe and lack of...
Read moreSo disappointing. We were there during WordiGras and loved the food! Came back to brag about it my parents & kids this past Sunday only to have the staff show up incredibly late, not opening till 12:15pm and not having everything prepped and ready to go for the day. Ordered fried pickled chips to only get 9 (some were dime size) pickles for $8, didn’t get my chicken sandwich made correctly that was advertised on the menu, the pork tenderloin was severely overcooked (could not eat and if you had the correct equipment the fryers that should be on a timer, nothing should ever get over fried), fries sat under the heat lap for at least 30 minutes (which I know because it took 45 minutes to get our food and they were cold and we didn’t get our food until 20 minutes after the table before us got their food), and even had to wait 45 minutes for ice tea. While the staff was friendly and we didn’t complain while we were there, their efficiency needs to increase significantly if this place is going to survive. No one should have to go outside to vape after only working 1 1/2hrs and leaving tables that still need to be serviced. We were the 3rd customer to come in that day and it took over 1 1/2hrs, 1 3/4hrs if you include waiting for the doors to open for only 6 people to just eat food. Word of advice: Bar Rescue can only help...
Read moreWe moved into Staunton, in June of this year. We had read about the makeover with Bar Rescue. Today we actually went for lunch.
I was quite happy with my "Big Poppa" Breaded Pork Tenderloin sandwich and fries. My wife got a cheeseburger, was okay, but had a few reservations about it.
I have no idea what it looked like before (still haven't seen the episode) but it looks nice, if a little dark. I get the vibe and what they are going for. I do wonder if there are any actual ties to prohibition activity in the area?
Our solid, effective server, Molly, was holding things down for the whole place, there were people at the bar, and another table came as we were leaving. I suspect they are more of a happy hour and beyond sort...
