Very disappointed with my familyâs trip to the brand new IHOP in Lake Ariel.
We have been looking at the sign for months and the time has finally come! We decided to wait a few days so they worked out all the quirks but apparently we didnât wait long enough!
For starters, the parking lot was littered with trash. Once we got inside, it took about 5 minutes for someone to come to the greeter table and seat us. Once seated, it took about another 5 minutes for our waiter, Triston, to take our drink order. When he came back with our drinks just a few minutes later, we ordered our food. After about 30 minutes of waiting for our food (it was not busy at all) and 15 minutes without drinks because they were all finished due to boredom, I spotted a woman dressed differently than the others but dressed way down. I asked if she was a manager and she was. I then asked if she could check on our food that was ordered over 30 minutes ago and she said she would take a look right now. Meanwhile, our waiter is in the corner wiping off and rolling silverware this whole time. The table next to us was also waiting the same amount of time. Anyway, within a few minutes the manager comes to our table and brings us 2 entrees and goes back for more. She then brings back 1 and then finally our waiter notices that his boss is taking care of us and maybe he should intervene. He comes over to refill our drinks and then comes back with them. At this time, we are still missing 1 entree. He asks, do we have everything? I had to reply sarcastically with, everything but 1 entree. He says, oh! Let me check on that! Comes back minutes later with the final entree. All the food that was delivered to our table was lukewarm at best. This tells me that our food was sitting in the pickup window for a long time and that our waiter does not have any kind of time management. Also, if he was coming to check on his customers routinely, we could have said something to remind him about our food 15-20 minutes in. This screams that he either doesnât care about his job, doesnât have good customer service skills, or needs to be retrained (possibly all 3 if I had to guess). To boot, my sonâs burger was cooked well done and not medium rare as requested but wasnât going to wait for his food to be cooked again. We were too scared to order desert thinking it was going to be at least another hour for that. We asked for our check and got ready to leave.
Finally, I had to take my daughter into the menâs restroom because the womenâs restroom was fully occupied. Let me tell you something! This restroom was filthy. As a parent, I could not let my daughter sit on one of those toilets even after cleaning the seat and using a seat cover OR let her wash her hands in the nasty sink. I had to make her hold it and go to the gas station next door which was surprisingly 1000...
Read moreSeated promptly, orders take, drinks arrived, then it was all downhill. It was at least 30 minutes and our food still hadnât arrived while other people were seated ,served , and checking out. Waitress kept apologizing and said our food was coming out shortly came back again and said they were plating it up and I finally said I needed to speak to the manager because we had an appointment that we had to make. The manager came over and explained our dilemma he said he would go check on it he came back and he said it was being plated up and the food arrived while he was speaking to us. Most of the food was just lukewarm our eggs have been sitting for quite some time , the pancakes Were over cooked and sitting for quite some time. The manager agreed and offered to get us new food but unfortunately we couldnât wait because we were already just about missing our appointment so we picked through the food and ate what we could. We had All asked for Chrisp bacon and none of us could eat it because it was very soft and undercooked. The manager said he would discount our check, We werenât looking for a free meal , we just wanted decent food at a decent price but unfortunately that didnât happen and the waitress went on to explain that half of the food was prepared and they wouldnât let her bring it out until the other half was done and thatâs why the eggs they had been sitting for quite a while as well as the pancakes and the food was just luke warm. I will not be returning to this establishment nor will I recommend it to friends or foes and when I went to meet the other party that I had an appointment with unfortunately they said they had not heard anything good about the place either. Our waitress was very embarrassed and apologetic but she canât fix the kitchen in my opinion. They need to bring in a seasoned IHOP manager for several months and fixed the problem in...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday. It was my daughters 3rd birthday. Came in with 9 people including 2 kids. We didnât call ahead but the parking lot wasnât super full. We had to wait a few minutes for them to pull some tables together. Ok, understandable. We looked around and used the restroom before we were seated. The Place was renovated very nice. First impression in the bathroom: there was a huge nasty poop splatter in the toilet and paper all over the floor. Super gross. Then there was the service. The wait here is terrible. We were sitting at the table for over 30 mins waiting for food. Itâs just pancakes and simple food guys. The server seemed attentive at first but then never came to give us any updates and there was noooooo hustle. At all. Took me 15 min to get a cup of coffee, 20 minutes to get a couple milkshakes and over 35 minutes for the entrees. 2 soups came out luke warm. 2 people had to wait for their food, an additional 10 minutes after the original 35, while everyone else was served. The server forgot multiple items and messed up a few things too. I had to send my bacon back because it was limp and almost raw. I was unimpressed and not happy. I was excited to try the new place in the area. Twin rocks was old and needed to go! Happy to see a new restaurant in its place. But I left with a bad taste. I wonât be coming back for a while. I wouldnât give them a second chance until a manager contacts me and serves...
