My first time ever going to this pizza ranch we were told to sit any place and someone will be right with us. 15 mins later we didnt see a single soul working so we just got up and left. Moved away from this town, recently moved back and ordered pizza ahead of time. Ordered at 5pm for 8pm delivery. The guy delivering the pizza stood on my deck and didnt knock or ring the bell. I waited for 3-4 mins and finally just decided to open the door. I say "hello" and he looks confused or shocked but doesn't say a single word to me. He just hands me the slip to sign and a pen. I sign it and then pass him his 10$ tip. He still doesnt say anything to me not even a thank you. I take my pizzas and at this point i dont know what else to say so i start to close my door and say "well, have a good night" he THEN decides to say "my pen." i forgot to to hand his pen back, silly me.
One pizza of okay looking and the other is a mess. Half of the pizza if completely fine but the other have looks ripped from the crust down to the middle. The ripped part wasn't in the box at all so it was about 45% of the pizza just straight up missing altogether. Im shocked and confused why this was deemed okay to send out to me when i paid full price 2 hours ahead of time. I call, still confused. Im confused even as to how to explain the issue so i get a ride over to the pizza place (I don't drive thus delivery) i set the pizza on the counter and the female "manager" of shorts leans in the take a look at it and says "Is it because there is no cheese right here?" pointing at the half of the pizza that nothing was even wrong on. At this point im so mad. Why is she choosing to ignore the other half that clearly messed up? I hold up one of the "slices" from the messed up side its about an inch by half an inch (smaller then sample sizes that we give out at my work, and no i don't even work at a pizza place) I ask "So this is a slice of pizza to you?" i put it down and pick up another because shes not saying anything. She just picks up the pizza and doesn't say anything to me and takes it to the back. At this point i want nothing to do with this place. I ask for my money back idk what i got refunded for because it was less then the pizza but at that point i didn't care i just wanted to leave that place.
I tried to inform higher ups and it asks how you would like to be contacted (i picked by phone) yet no one called me. I got sent a copy paste email then 3 weeks later got sent a letter with the same email message and a coupon for a free pizza IF i paid for a pizza full price. That expired a few days later on April fools day.
No thanks. I work at a place where people come and go and they always ask if there is anyplace in town to sit and eat i always make it a point to never suggest that...
Read moreWe had a birthday party here that was a complete disaster.
We are very frequent visitors to Pizza Ranch in large part because our young kids love it, so when it came time to plan a birthday party for them we thought it would be a great place to go. We booked the party room a couple of months in advance, and were told that if we had at least 30 guests, we would have the entire room at no charge. We were certain we would have that and informed them a week or so prior to the event we would have about 45. We got there a few minutes early to set up and were shocked to find out our reservation was not only just for 30 people, it was to be shared with another group of 30 in the party room scheduled to arrive a half hour after us. No sympathy or apologies were offered, just comments like "I'm sure not everyone will show up". Once we very quickly filled up our 30 chairs and guests were still arriving we spoke to one of the managers.
Our conversation with the manager, Nikki, was where things really went downhill. We asked if we could bring an empty table from the dining room or borrow from the other party who was already late and she refused. We suggested people could leave and be refunded and she said absolutely not. Nikki was cruel, unapologetic, rude, and my wife was in tears by the end of the conversation.
Fortunately we were able to keep things cheerful with the 3 and 6 year old birthday boys so they were able to have a good party despite the way we were all mistreated.
To add insult to injury, the other party group was 30 minutes late and 9 people short. We could have borrowed some of their tables and it wouldn't have impacted them in the least. Not to mention the fact that the party room fire code allows for 50 guests, not 60 as they had...
Read moreI consider myself something of a Pizza Ranch connoisseur. Our family has a tradition of eating at PR buffets whenever we're on road trips through Midwestern rural areas, so we've visited quite a few of these gems.
On this particular occasion, the Ranch was sponsoring some sort of local kids' athletic league. Middle school kids in Pizza Ranch shirts were running around like ants. Soon after our first trip to the buffet, it became apparent what these kids had been tasked with: bussing plates.
A nice idea in theory, but there were nearly as many kids as there were customers, and the bussers were a little - well, how shall I put this? - over-eager to excel at their jobs.
Every minute or so, a busser would stop by our table to ask if we were done with any plates. Even when we were mid-bite with plates still full of food. We could scarcely get a few words into a conversation before a busser would interrupt us, looking to collect plates. At one point, distracted by my own kid, I turned my back for a few moments. When I returned to finish my last few bites of pizza, I found that my plate had already been whisked away.
I suspect the kids were earning a buck or two for each used plate they brought back to the kitchen. We briefly considered swiping a stack of extra plates from the buffet and then sprinkling them with crumbs just so we would have a steady supply to satisfy the constant inquirers.
Apart from the overly aggressive bussing, we enjoyed this particular buffet - especially the generous selection of stuffed-crust varieties. We'd come back to this one again. Just not on a...
