This fine small town Mexican restaurant earns a five-star rating! Everything was fantastic, but the Salsa Picante, the Carnitas and the service were exceptional.
Smokey jalapeno, cilantro, onion, tomatillo, garlic, and other spices combined to make some of the best salsa I have had. Excellent. I ordered the Burrito Ranchero: two large flour tortillas packed with tender lean crisp finished Carnitas, grilled peppers and onions. One covered with green sauce and one with red sauce. Beans and rice on the plate. A mouthwatering plate of food. The Carnitas are done right. Eat Carnitas here. Recommended! My wife had the Enchiladas la Banderas. She loved every bite.
It is a clean restaurant with outstanding service. The menu is enormous, pages and pages of your favorite Mexican food. The best Mexican restaurant in Stigler.

Read moreThe service was not bad. Though our waitress was obviously new and nervous, she did well. Unfortunately it was very loud in the restaurant, I'm guessing because of all of the fans running. The Mexican music playing in the background added to the din, but I like the music because it adds to the atmosphere. It was decorated nicely. My cheese enchilada with cheese sauce was cold, and the chicken in my taco seemed to have been heated up one too many times; it tasted good but was dry. The beans and rice were pretty good. The salsa was not spicy to me, but the guacamole was...? The chips weren't impressive either. The others I ate with were also not impressed. The sopapillas looked yummy but I didn't try them.
#COVID19 critique: I guess the virus doesn't exist in this town because nothing was being done about that.
Sidenote: I'm used to Texan Mexican food/restaurants, and I've...
