Bagel Island Sandwich Shoppe — Restaurant in Stock Island

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a bagels and coffee spot in Big Pine Key. Bagel Island Sandwich Shoppe exceeded all of my expectations. This place offered a wide array of options for breakfast and lunch, including bagels, croissants, muffins, and eggs breakfast specials.

Epic failure...I went here on 3/18/2018..... I got there along with a few gentlemen who were waiting as it opened. There was a girl, and the owner there. I got a coffee, and everything bagel with cream cheese... I added cream and milk (yes both) to my coffee from the jugs on the coffee counter... when I took a gulp- YEUK- I could taste something foul... I told the owner who grabbed the milk jug saying it must be bad... Thats all he said, so I asked for another cup poured a new coffee- used only cream from the other jug, and AGAIN- BAD.... I dumped it out... wasnt getting anything else. I can understand this from one perspective but to not check after I said...was not good, but to not say 'Sorry', and offer me another cup (I had to ask) was so poor... then to have it happen again... and owner said not a word to me.... BTW, the bagel was very good.... its the other that makes me say- NO WAY will I...

Hate to give this place this score since I had researched it and saved it for a visit before we even got here. But...the bagels were awful. No flavor. Ordered several kinds, so it wasn't just one choice or flavor.

We ordered a Cuban sandwich, but we got a sandwich made with salami and American cheese, and no pickles. You're 120 miles from Cuba. How could you mess that sandwich up so badly? For the record: It's ham, turkey, pork, Swiss, mustard and pickles on Cuban bread.

Anyway, that's my honest review. I won't be back, and you shouldn't go either if you want a good bagel or a good Cuban sandwich. (Didn't eat...
