BAEW Food & Grill — Restaurant in Stockbridge

Visited this spot from googling near by places. 1. The food: I forgot to take a picture. The food looked good. I got smoke chicken wings plate. My sides which were baked beans with turkey meat and green beans with onions and potatoes. My sides were hot for the temp and delicious. My smoke chicken wings were cold unfortunately so that took away from it. I bet they would have been better hot and skin not as chewy. I can tell the favor was there. My boyfriend got the same plate but the sides were collard greens and bake beans. His sides were hot also and tasty although the collard greens were too spicy for me but I'm sensitive to spicy and he was ok with it. Again, unfortunately that chicken was cold and we didn't know until we left to get in the car to eat and by that point, we had to keep going. 2. The portion size for the sides we had were much smaller than the pictures posted. Just our luck that day and again, I forgot to take a picture which would have been good to show. I asked some questions, maybe too many for the owner. She was kind to try and answer but I should have asked if she would be willing to give a small sample of the peach cobbler because I felt like I was pulling teeth trying to ask questions. Then a customer came behind and she signal with her head that someone was behind me as I was asking questions about her food so I stopped and moved out the way. No problem. I then came back up to order something to drink, got two small bottles of what ended up tasting like kool-aid for $5 each when we tasted it later but the other disappointing thing was they were warm initially, not cold at all. I took everything to car and came back in real quick to ask for ice and she said they don't have any. So the owner asked if I wanted a refund. I wasn't clear since I clearly didn't have anything in my hand at that time so I asked to clarify, she repeated so I asked were you refunding due to inconvenience, she said oh no, for me to bring bottles back which were in the car. We decided to let her keep the funds for the warm juice and went to the grocery store across the street to get ice and wash hands. No restroom in the spot. Gave two stars due to the chicken wings being cold which was the main expense, ($45 w/o all tax for meals) and giving warm juice, the way it was handled. Everything is costly. Understandable. Even time. The time it took just to drive there, could have gone anywhere else and couldn't get refunded for at least one bottle to avoid having to go back out to the car to get the two warm juice bottles to...

Just left there. Wish I could say I experienced the good service and the good food . They were packed when I arrived and people were waiting for food. Looked like they had been there for a while and I saw no plates going out. No one greeted me. I stood there a good five possibly 10 minutes and once they finally got to me, they told me that that there was a hold on all the barbecue items. It would have been nice if they had told me that as soon as I walked in, I just feel like they wasted my time. Came because of the reviews and because of social media. Seems it was just hype. I decided to try Baew Food & Grill on Friday. I’m so glad I did the ribs and chicken was delicious! I also ordered greens , Mac and cheese and baked beans , oh myyyy they were delicious as well ! The service was excellent and my food was hot when I reached home ! Oh and the barbecue sauce is really good ! I’ll definitely be patronizing this awesome restaurant again real soon !
