Sad to see this place go down hill like it has with the new owners.
To be fair - the service time has improved. The views are still great, and the live entertainment is still amazing.
BUT that's where the good ends. We've stopped twice now while it has been under new owners. The first time was while they had the old menu. The wait staff were downright rude. One of the wait staff/ bar tenders get vocal with me over being in the way. Another patron asked if they could place a food order, and the same employee told them - no, we're out of food. Have you ever been in a dive bar in a shady part of a major metropolitan area at bar close - that's the feeling we got - at 8:45pm.
Our next visit wasn't much better. This time there was a new menu. The new menu had some pretty awesome sounding choices on it! Unfortunatly at pretty hefty prices. A burger was $9. And didn't include fries. Don't get me wrong - I'm MORE than happy to pay $9 for a $9 burger. The burgers there are most definatly not $9 burgers though. I decided on a McHarbor burger - a burger with 1000 island dressing. That was $10.50. You know how you go to your local fast food joint and order their special sauce, and the special sauce I'd dripping all over the place? Ya, not here. My special sauce barely covered a pickle. $16 for a combo basket, that includes a handful of deep fried goodies was about double in price of what it should be. Now doing get me wrong - I understand that this establishment is located in one of the, if not the most desirable spot on the east shore, and their overhead is more than a "Bob's bar" on the corner, and they need to recoup that. But I don't think they need to do that all in one meal. Prices were comparable to an upriver establishment located by a bridge. Only difference is a place like Fratellos or similar provides not only awesome location, views, outside dining and ambiance - but they also provide a $9 burger.
What set me off, and maybe it was trivial, but on our last visit, I ordered a cocktail. That cocktail cost a dollar more than it normally did. I shrugged it off. While I was sitting at the bar, a local sat beside me and ordered a cocktail. When presented her bill, she asked why it was a dollar more. The bartender informed her that drink prices were raised for the summer season. She refused the drunk.
Prices raised for summer season. Sounds to me like Let's price gouge boaters.
It's a shame. Our group has decided...
Read moreWell for being our 1st time there 9/5/2020 we were a bit disappointed with the service, we had gotten there around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon with only 2 or 3 other tables of guests, and shortly after we ordered our food the outdoor patio was full. Lots of guest and a huge group of about 10 were seated. Our waitress said she would get our order in right away because of the large group. After watching everyone around us get their food and tickets to pay we questioned 4 different times “when will we get our food” and it was a simple order, I had the nacho platter which was the special and my husband ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and the waitstaff kept saying it’s gonna be a little bit yet. It wouldn’t have been so bad but the table of 10 all got their food and a couple next to us got theirs within 20 min of being there after about an hr and 20 we finally got ours. The food was great, but they forgot the ranch on my husband’s which at this time we just laughed and told the waitress and she brought him some on the side. The food was great and we plan to visit again but we will make it known when we are there we had a long wait and hope they can make that visit...
Read moreI mean I can't give a terrible review but I can't give a great review of this experience. Simple menu, just had a simple Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap..it was ok..too much lettuce not enough Chicken cheese and bacon...me and my bff Went on an adventure to go find a beautiful view on the water and watch some football ...and grab somethings to split. We looked Looked up bars with a water view and Harbor Bar popped up! So we decided to go check it out it is a small little bar... At 1 point there was at least 4 people behind the bar and we were waiting for drinks and a menu for a little bit longer than normal, ....but also seemed as if they were young and just learning, and you had the More experienced training them... it seemed. So I respect this ...as the people who don't Wana work right now 😥.. The view is nice. I'd Definitely support the place w drinks and an app...but the best thing about our experience was the view and near boat landings...perfect place to fish and enjoy the view and go...
