We were last here a year ago. I guess due to covid, their menu changed, no steaks, etc. We didn’t even stay. If I wanted chicken fingers, I wouldn’t go to The Widows. We decided to try it again. There’s so much not being run properly, it’s sad. This is not The Widows anymore. They had plastic table cloths, plastic flowers and plastic straws. Paper napkins. If you’ve ever eaten here in the past, you know this was not usual for finer dining. For the prices, you don’t use PLASTIC. We waited more than 10 minutes before the hostess asked if our wait person was here. He was not. She took our drink order. Our waiter finally brought us our drinks and we were ready to order. We ordered. Then the waiter returned telling my husband that he needed to order a different entree because they were out of scallops. My husband ordered clams with linguini. He apologized and said he accidentally punched in the wrong number. Our salads came. I ordered balsamic vinegar and oil. He brought red wine vinegar and asked if that was ok. I asked if he had balsamic and he said yes. Sooooo, ok, he brings the balsamic. Which then sat on my table the rest of the night. Our entrees came. I ordered a medium rare steak. It came out black on one side, no steak knife and I wanted a butter baked potato. No butter. Just a potato. Got ahold of him, again. Brings my stuff. There were a lot of servers along with the wait staff. Watching the other tables, the wait staff is young, needs more training. As does some of the wait staff. I understand it’s hard getting help these days, but for the prices here, more training, more training, more training. We wait forever for the check. Bye bye Widows. It...
Read moreThe moment our server arrived at the table we sensed she didn't want to be there, as there was no smile, eye contact or communication. The menus were slapped down on the table and we were asked what we wanted to drink. The slight roll of the eyes I got when I asked what beers were on tap said it all. My drink came, but my wife's Sangria did not and after 10 minutes of watching our server mess around at the bar, check her hair 5 times in the mirror and around with the staff, I summoned another server who completed the drink order. Upon our drinks arriving, our server came òver to let us Know that this table is not in her section and that she was not used o woringthis secton. THE REAL PROBLEM WAS THAT SHE IS NOT USED TO WORKING. Now, this was 8 o'clock on a Saturday evening with a thinning dining crowd, so it wasn't too busy at all, actually quite empty. Our food arrived in a reasonable time with a smile and helping hand by the water boy. Our dirty plates were removed and replaced with more dishes by the waterboy. Our server again disappeared, and left us with empty glasses for well over 10 minutes not once coming over to see how we were doing. When we had fished our meal she simply asked, and I kid you not....."Do you guys are want, like desert or something? It's a real shame that this review is about service and not about the incredible food this place has.....but then again it only takes a bad apple to ruin it for the rest of us. We...
Read moreTook a chance based on some of the other reviews. Two other patrons were at the bar besides us. We were never acknowledged by the bartender or a hostess. After 5 minutes we sat down and were again, not acknowledged by the bartender for another 10 minutes. Walked out. Thanks Cole
Updated to the response. Let me correct you on some errors, 1st when we entered the lre was no one to greet us at the door, not exactly the greatest start considering you ARE A RESTAURANT. And speaking if EXAGGERATION. it was NOT 2 mins, your right we sat at the bar because again no one told us where to sit. And it was DEFINITELY more then the 2 mins you're claiming and when you say Vole was taking care of the 2 ONLY TWO other customers at the bar he was explain how he started there as a dish washer, and told a story about his entire life there. We as potential patrons don't care about coles life story, if you watched the video you'll also see the that we ON SEVERAL occasions tried to get his attention, Asian NEVER Acknowledged us. Not a hey I'll be with you guys in a second, MOTING WE were none existent to him. I get it, you feel the need to defend yourself on a post, considering you're struggling based off the fact It was lunch time and there always only 2 other people there. Maybe next time just try to do a better job, instead of making...
