We read the reviews and though this water side shack might be a good place to stop for lunch while I'm the area. The good news is it was dog friendly but that only meant we could sit out side with the dog. No water or other accommodations for our pup. But not a big deal. We ordered the burger basket with fries and Cole slaw. The food came out hot and fast. The service was good with our order taken quickly, and came out correctly. But the burger was very bland, no seasoning, maybe this is a thing here but the beef wasn't that tasty with no seasoning. The fries were salted and done well with clean grease and the Cole slaw was premade commercial slaw, which had some flavor but next to the burger couldn't make up for it.
Maybe all the other reviews were drunk or so hungry after being on the water cardboard would taste good but that was not our experience. We asked if this was how the burgers are normally made and they said it was.
Anyhow if you enjoy bland burgers then the size of the 1/2 burger will make you happy. They had a large parking area but when we were there people were parking in all directions and there was only room for about 6 cars. Somebody was going to have a hard time getting out. It's picnic tables outside so we didn't expect clean but it was swept and near and the tables were wiped down. It was easy to find using Google maps but on a busy day it might be hard to get down the small street with every body trying to get out on their boat.
Overall it was OK as we did get salt and pepper and some mustard ketchup and mayo helped the burger. Give this review a like if read all the way here.
Maybe the folks that rated this higher are ok with bland food or locals don't eat here often as it looked like a better stop for a cold beer after a day...
Read moreMy family and I came to the Tilton Hilton a few weeks ago in the mood for breakfast. We knew they stopped serving breakfast at 10:45, so we got there at around 10:30. They told us we were too late for breakfast because they were backed up, but they were ok with serving us lunch. This didn’t make sense, but we were hungry so we ordered their lunch. Knowing they can’t stick to their own schedule, we showed up even earlier today. We stood in a small line, and as soon as we got to the front (it was about 10:30 by now, but we had been waiting) the hostess told us they were too backed up to serve us. There was no one behind us, but they said they had to cut it off because it was too busy. There are four of us and we explained how this had happened before. We asked to speak to an owner, and after telling us we didn’t want to talk to the owner she said they weren’t even there. We then asked to speak to a manager, and we were told there was no manager there either. It seems to me that they are poorly managed, if even managed at all, and the lazy employees decide when they feel like they should stop working. Who is making these decisions if there are no managers or...
Read moreProbably a cool experience more than anything, however we walked in and were just stared at. We thought about just leaving but figured we’ve give it a try since we drove 15 min around the lake to get there and it was a suggestion from a local. Heavy set lady sitting down finally said something when I asked if they were still serving food. With attitude inside or outside you pick. Not being locals we didn’t know…We sat inside she didn’t move from her seat and demanded the girl who was rolling silverware to the door. I closed it. They said nothing we sat where we waited. It took a while to be greated by another lady even though there were 4 people coming and going. The waitress was nice. My husband liked his burger but my wings were possibly undercooked. I didn’t eat the one that looked questionable. Probably better places to eat with friendlier staff there are other places on the lake. Also I’d add a handwashing station and better ventilation or air fresheners in the bathroom because it’s unappealing to have to go in a stinky restroom just to wash your hands. And have to wait for all the people who...
