I'm from Georgia staying in Sac City and have been looking all over for a BBQ joint for the last 2 months and finally came across this hidden gem. I had the Best Platter which includes 4 bones of pork ribs, about a half pound of chicken and a half pound or more of prime rib. I gotta admit I wasn't impressed with the chicken. It was dry and appeared to be dark meat which is great but it's hard to dry dark meat. The pork ribs were so tender I pulled each bone out one by one before I even started eating they were so juicy. The Smoky flavor was right on time but it was missing seasoning. Even a little more salt would have made a world of difference. The prime rib is 2nd to none, I could eat that every day of my life and be happy. Just perfect. For sides I got the potato salad which was excellent and I got the spicy baked beans. I wasn't impressed. They were spicy and that's about it. No bbq flavor or seasoning, just bland. The complimentary cornbread was tasty but extremely dry, I'd love to have it right from the oven, I'm sure there's a world of difference. There are 4 different sauces to choose from, I got the Mississippi honey which was awesome, my wife got the Memphis sauce which was very good too. They have a Georgia mustard sauce and a Carolina red sauce which I don't doubt is very good each but the problem is, I'm from Georgia, just across the border from South Carolina. South Carolina is well known for its MUSTARD SAUCE and Georgia it's well known for its RED BASED SAUCE. Georgia it's NOT a mustard based state. That should be addressed or maybe I'm just being a stickler because that's where I come from. Overall I'm going back and back again, it's a damn good restaurant with a great atmosphere and a huge 64 ounce beer served in a 64 ounce Mason jar. From what I hear if you polish off 5 with a punch card you get a free T shirt. Sounds...
Read moreWe took an hour road trip just to eat here. Very clean and fun atmosphere. The service was top notch and exactly what you would want. We were greeted and seated immediately. The menu was easy to read with some pictures. Good variety and decent prices too. We ordered cheese curds, burnt ends platter, and the pulled pork sandwich. (Baked beans, grandma's potato salad, and beer battered French fries along with cornbread were our sides) Everything was very hot and presented nicely. The portions were much larger than expected. I immediately dropped a bunch of fries on the cheese curd plate for my husband. I loved that they served ranch with my fries. The burnt ends had a different sauce than the one served with the pulled pork. We both preferred the sweeter flavor of the other sauce. Personal preference. The burnt ends weren't what you would normally get, but were delicious. They reminded me of deep fried pork chop bites, but my husband thought they were more like a delicious smoked pork belly. Either way, they were hot and yummy and you could see the smoke ring. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The baked beans were spicy and one of our faves. The fries were cooked to perfection and the potato salad was decent. I think food is always based on personal flavor preferences. I would definitely eat here again. The waitress was sweet and very attentive. I loved the decor of the entire restaurant. Excellent parking with ramp and stairs to get inside. Plenty of tables with lots of space between. I wish we had restaurants like this in...
Read moreLast time we ate here, the service was awful. Thought we would give it another try. Two times was not a charm as the service was once again awful. The first time the waiter came to greet us, we were ready to order and did just such. Roughly 15 minutes after we ordered some of our friends walked in the door and since we had a table for 8, we asked them to join us vs them waiting long for a table. They ordered promptly. One of our friends ordered the same thing as our son, again ordered 15 minutes prior. Then 5 minutes after they ordered, the waiter went up to my son and said they were out of what he ordered. That’s 20 minutes past the time of the original order already. Once the food came out, surprisingly it was warm. Roughly 5 minutes later, our friends received their order. The one that ordered 15 minutes after my son got her order, that they told my son they were out of. We were at the restaurant for an hour and 20 minutes. Barely saw our waiter the whole time. Very disappointing to have two instances in a row where we were disappointed. Food is good. Service on the...
