First of all, Iβm an easy grader and this is a new restaurant. In some cases, the food was seven out of five and others three out of five average five out of five ha ha.
Real downside is the portions. Although I had crab cakes (on a bed of spinach) as an appetizer they were really really delicious BUT really really small.($21).. I also chose the grilled vegetables ($9) and the two tiny crab cakes were not going to satisfy my appetite. But the grill vegetables(mostly tiny carrots with a few tiny parsnips - small portion didnβt help.
So when the waitress announced the three desserts they had that evening, I was gonna say Iβll take all three ha ha. Instead, I chose the raspberry cobbler which was freshly baked just for me. Oh my. 40 minutes after I ordered the dessert came to the table and was baked too long - a spoon couldnβt cut it although most of it was a bit softer, and in the end, I enjoyed it.
I arrived at the restaurant (solo dining) at 4:30 end of the 15 or so tables of four only three were occupied. But the waitress mentioned that they get quite busy. I also mentioned to the waitress what some of the photographs on the wall meant to me. And she obligingly listened as I told her the story of my dadβs attempt to drive his bicycle 20 miles each way to witness Lindbergh departure from Roosevelt, Field, New York, and onto Paris. But my grandfather said no to his 10 year-old son. but just about 15 years later, my dad was flying one of the trainers that is on the wall in the restaurant as well as the twin engine B 25, which is also on one wall..
If I could order again, it wouldβve been a lot better just to order a 10 ounce burger ($19)
Ohβ¦ I forgot to mention to the waitress that the story of my dad wanting to see, Lindbergh had a happy ending. A local NYC radio station covered the 1927 Lindbergh landing in Paris. So my dad played hooky from school and went to the local hardware store that had a radio in an open window with play by play of Franceβs enormous welcome to...

Rating: β ββββ
I recently visited Fourth and Field for brunch with my family, and unfortunately, I must say that our experience was incredibly disappointing. From the abysmal service to the delayed food and the need to go to the bar to pay our bill, it was a brunch experience we will not soon forget.
To begin with, the service at Fourth and Field was shockingly poor. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, paying little attention to our table. It took an eternity for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was lukewarm and clearly left sitting for far too long. The lack of urgency and care from the servers was truly disheartening.
Adding to our frustration was the fact that we had to go to the bar to pay our bill. Despite repeatedly requesting it, the staff never brought the bill to our table, leaving us feeling neglected and ignored. Thankfully, the guys at the bar were cool and accommodating, but it shouldn't have been our responsibility to seek them out in order to settle our bill.
The overall experience at Fourth and Field left us with a sour taste in our mouths. It's unfortunate when a restaurant fails to deliver on even the basic expectations of service.
I cannot recommend Fourth and Field based on my recent brunch experience. The terrible service, delayed food, and the need to go to the bar to pay our bill were major disappointments. I hope that the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for...
Β Β Β Read moreFourth & Field is my go-to mommy-toddler date spot. We go right after I pick him up from daycare care, right at the start of dinner service because I'm very aware that dining w a toddler isn't for everyone and I don't want to disturb the evenings of others. The staff are so kid-friendly - by this I want to be specific and say, they don't just "tolerate" my kid. They welcome him. They're excited to see him and don't roll there eyes when he throws his food on the floor (which I of course try to pick up) or squeals in delight as yet another awesome airplane takes off or tries to run into the kitchen on the way out. As an exhausted mom, I love having a place close to home with delicious food and friendly staff where we truly feel taken care of and welcomed, like family. My son gets so excited whenever we pull into the parking lot, and he enjoys sharing the latest special w me for our dinner - the short rib ravioli, lemon seared scallops, any of their amazing seasonal soups, etc. it has also made a great spot for brunch when the grandparents come to town and the all-too-rare actual date night w my husband. Fourth and Field has the range and class for all of these occasions and needs, all amidst more than the usual mishaps as they've settled in their first year (not one but TWO property-damaging storms!!) I am so happy to have Fourth & Field so...
