Earle's Inn Pub & Grille — Restaurant in Straban Township

We decided to try this place on the way home from Adamstown. I have passed by it many times over the years but never stopped. As we walked in it was definitely a local place, we got some looks but everyone was friendly. The staff was great and very attentive to our needs. The place has real character. The only issue is the smoke, it was pretty dense so be forewarned. There are signs outside that state such so it is not their issue. We ordered our food and drinks. The server was great. Three of us had burgers. They were very very good. The fourth person ordered the steak special. I wasn't sure how that would be but it turned out very good. My friend stated it was prepared exactly as he wanted and it was a good quality steak that he enjoyed very much. The cook even came out to make sure all was good, a nice touch. My wife and I decided to try this place tonight on a suggestion from one of our friends. He was dead on accurate about the food! I got a half a pound of shrimp and a dozen clams which I don't even think totaled $13. My wife ordered the hot roast beef special. Well actually I ordered the hot turkey sandwich special for my wife and when they brought it to the table she wanted to know why I got her turkey instead of beef. The bartender / waitress offered to get her another plate and said she would eat the turkey on her lunch break. Could you know it did not go to waste because it was a huge plate of food. I'm not sure why all the reviews for food are 4 and 5 stars... I just ate what was supposed to be a cheesesteak with fried onions. The menu says at least 1/2lb of meat but it was nowhere close to that. It had more lettuce than steak. The cheese was some kind of imitation cheese, I assume from a can. I am not even exaggerating but you can get a better cheesesteak from the Sheetz MTO menu, and that gas station uses real cheese. I also ordered Cheddar Cheese Fries. They were undercooked Sysco fries with the aforementioned fake cheese sauce that had absolutely no taste. It was just a scoop of yellow goop over undercooked fries.
