I found out this place by chance while trying to find any new Indian restaurants in the area! It's located about 20-30 mins off Springfield (depends on where you live). I went this week and got a 1 non-veg entrée lunch which included the entrée along with some rice and 3 rotis. I ordered the butter chicken one and the taste was good! Not too spicy and was fairly warm as well (although you could microwave it before consuming if you want it more hot). It's certainly enough for 1 person and even more than that (I could eat the rice with the entrée with 1 roti and have 2 left!). Apart from the standard menu items, I saw there were a few closed containers with Chicken biryani in it which you can order as well.
I read a few comments here that there is no proper customer service. While it might be the case previously, I didn't face any such issues at all. The server was polite with my order and even offered me a spoon after I paid for the food. Some of them (esp. Americans) expect them to be treated well with proper customary words and they end up giving up a 1 star if they don't and in my humble opinion, this is not fair! While I agree that customer service is essential, that applies more to a dine-in restaurant where you sit in a table and a waiter/waitress comes to your seat and ask for your order. Whereas this is a truck stop shop with no chairs/tables/stools available plus you don't have to tip, I believe the weightage should be given to only the quality and quantity of food and nothing else!
Even though only take-out option is available, it's worth trying atleast once for a quick stop. I look forward to trying the other items...
Read moreTried to order a 2 entree meal, was charged for 2 separate meals. The goat curry had a decent amount of meat that was alright, but the sauce is pretty tasteless. It is served with plain white rice with no seasoning and "naan" that is essentially just a couple steamed whole wheat tortillas. The biryani was pretty tasty, decent spice and texture, not great, but no regrets on that one. I might go back to try the tandoori chicken which looked pretty good, but all told you can get better Indian with more variety at any of the spots in Springfield at a better price even including the gas to drive from Strafford.
Sometimes you can find some surprising food at random gas stations, but if you imagine "Gas station Indian food" this is what you picture, not one of...
