We had to ask where we could sit when we saw no sign about it. Then once we had menus and order just beverages which was brought out wrong. I ordered a rootbeer and was given a dr pepper, instead switching I just drank that because it took awhile to get drinks. It took forever to order the food because waitress was talking with customers at the counter area about their cat pics. I finally was able to order and I got the Manhattan plus a coney cheese dog. My mom got the Chicken Cordon Blue which was tough for her. My coney arrived with my mom's food and ate the coney which was about the best part of the experience. I guess they thought the dog was my appetizer because it took awhile for the Manhattan to come out. They must went to New York City to get it. The brown gravy had no taste. The mashed potatoes weren't even lukewarm and not mixed well. I'm used to box potatoes but I know you can get smooth mashed potatoes from using real potatoes also. The roast beef was tough and had no flavor. The manager came over before I discovered all of my disappointments of the meal and actually said I see you picked the favorite meal here. I ate because I was hungry and we had more grave to clean and place flowers. We had back tracked to stop at this place. I was told they were only serving breakfast and lunch so I'm not sure why I had a menu with dinner entries on it. The hours said 6 to 2 and Sunday 7 to 2 so not sure when you have the dinner portion. Took forever to get the bill as the waitress was off talking to the counter customers. Maybe they were having a bad day so I hope this was a one off experience that we had....

I saw Lisa with her Cleveland Browns shirt on. She was busy busy. Obviously this place gets busy. First time ever eating here. As our meal went on I was able to strike her into some facial expression changes lol not being a negative but very positive and her part of her response was I've been doing this for over 40 years, but it was fun to look into her eyes and see her laugh and smile.
I couldn't help but take a few pictures when I left noticing this unique fence next door it's either part of this place or next-door. I don't know regardless. I just thought of my mother and all she's done in her life because she made a fence out of windows, doors, shutters, etc. not exactly like this one, but very unique privacy fence.
Yes, this post is about thinking these people that have pave the way for us like Lisa didn't know her from Adam, but was able to get a great expression out of her. These are the moments I look for in life and love meeting people and hearing too bad she was so busy. I could learn more about her life stop in and see her. They make really good food here like really good food.
They actually fry the chicken and then slow bake it. I was actually eating the bones. It...
Read moreI really enjoyed our meal here. Our waitress was friendly and quick. The cost was pretty good too! Our food took just a short while, but honestly I ordered breakfast at noon, so I'm sure those homefries needed some time to cook. The food was amazing. I got the Mess breakfast and my husband got the Manhattan. Honestly, while my food was pretty good, I was kinda jealous of his. The gravy was really good and the roast was delicious and tender. My breakfast was really good too, especially with the extra sausage gravy on top! The cherry pie was pretty fantastic too! The atmosphere was definitely breakfast diner-like, with cute whimsical touches. The door fence outside surrounding the property is the cutest. The patrons looked to be what I'd have expected on a weekend day at noon - a bunch of retired people out getting food and socializing over coffee at the diner.
The only thing I took a star for was the table beside us sat dirty for the entire time we were there, but we chose to sit there as it is a seat yourself kind of place. Just kind of assumed it'd be cleaned up...
