My wife and I were staying nearby on an extended weekend getaway for our anniversary and decided we wanted a special dinner, but had not planned ahead. We were able to make a reservation for later that day and arrived just a few minutes prior (we had to settle for lunch since they were not open for dinner any of our remaining days there). We were asked to have a seat in the lobby. About ten minutes later, it was explained to us that a storm was approaching and they were trying to get everyone on the patio inside. There appeared to be about 3-4 tables of folks to be moved, but it seemed to take a lot longer than necessary. We were finally sat about 25 minutes after our reservation time. As a nice gesture for our extended wait, the hostess offered up a free glass of wine. While she helped my wife decide on one, I was looking over the list, but the hostess walked off. It just seemed odd that she would offer my wife a complimentary glass but not me. No big deal. We had the tuna tartare for an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS! I had the brisket and it was pretty good. My wife ordered the ribeye, medium rare. When it came out, it was medium well to well. We hardly ever send food back, but this time we did. The second attempt was cooked unevenly - borderline raw on one side and closer to well on the other. Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and apologetic. He even comped my wife's desert for the ribeye mishap. When making our reservation, I was asked if there was an occasion we were celebrating and I explained it was our anniversary. Not once was that acknowledged, we were finally seated well after our reservation time, we were put at a table right in front of the kitchen doors (not the most romantic spot), and my wife's steak was messed up twice. I generally would expect more out of a fine dining establishment where we spent over...

This review is for the restaurants lunch menu. When Morrisette built their new winery building next door, this opened up the entire original mountain top location they shared to a full service eatery. Probably a good thing as well. The place was packed on the Saturday we visited. It was a beautiful day for a mountain drive to be fair though, so this may not be the norm. The mac and cheese appetizer was Wonderful and the best my wife has ever tried. I had the blackened catfish with fries, while the wife had the skillet fried chicken sandwich with salad. Catfish was perfectly cooked and the remoulade was tangy but didn't overpower. The pickled celery should be sold at their store to take home. The potato skins were toothpick thin and crisp and a nice touch, but the wife thought they might be confused as bones because of their size and texture. I chose to trust their fish monger and didn't offer her another sample. Her chicken sandwich was crispy and had a nice sweet honey flavored sauce that flavored the bread nicely but we both thought the chicken though tasty, was a bit rubbery. Her salad was crisp and the dressing was very nice. Can't wait to return and try more of their menu, which I understand changes regularly. Go and enjoy. Oh and they have some pretty incredible...

What a beautiful setting for an afternoon brunch or evening dinner! When you visit Chateau Morrisette for the winery tour or the fabulous restaurant you have to take time to enjoy the moment. My wife and I have dined on the balcony with a most amazing overlook of the countryside and a slight gentle breeze greeting your face with the sunlight hugging you! We don't rush our chance to relax and enjoy each others company as we discuss life's events or just our little moments together, and Chateau Morrisette provides just those occasions for us to do just that! The setting is what makes it an occasion and not just a meal! To experience Chateau Morrisette is to understand why you looked for a place off the beaten path to begin with! Relax, unwind with a glass of wonderful wine, enjoy the company and scenery, and get lost for a little while before life's realities come back on your journey back to...

As a retired multi-restaurant owner, i can tell you that THIS restaurant is a diamond in the mountains. As soon as you walk in, the establishment and views just take your breath away! The menu, the service, and the customer care is nothing less than warm and elite. Chris was our waiter, but he acted more like a host at a 5-star resort. I should know, because my restaurants were in such a place. Grace wasn't even our waitress, yet always smiled and asked us how things were with our meal. As we finished our meal, the chef (Oshi) came out to see how our lunch was.........and it was flawless, literally! This business is run professionally, curtiously, and it's simply in a class of it's own. The menu was perfect, just like everything else there. Here's the bottom line.......if they don't cook it, you don't need it! As my friend's back on my island would say......... fugetaboutit 😎🤌

Chateau Morrisette is all around a great restaurant. Starting with the excellent staff, to the majestic views, the wonderful cuisine, and of course, the fantastic wine, everything was a delight. The cheeseboard included a locally produced cheese that had a delightful taste and texture somewhere between brie and aged cheddar. The housemade preserve and pickled grape accoutrements were very nice. For the entrees, the Heritage Pork Chop served with grilled red cabbage, smashed peas, and pureed carrot was delicous. The Duck Leg Confit a'la Orange was also excellent. For desert, the panna cotta with preserved cherries was delightful. The orange cream sorbet was also very tasty. The staff was very friendly, prompt and professional from start to finish. In summary, our experience was everything that we would expect from a solid 5-star restaurant.
