Iām so glad I checked hours to see some bad reviews that caught my attention! There seems to be a lot of hate on one of the sweet ladies that works at Nancyās. To point out the flaws in the negative reviews and to make one question the truthfulness of those reviews, one must wonder how someone left the store because another customer got yelled at and then was able to capture a gorgeous glamour shot of said yelling lady. I thought they left? Right? Anyone who takes a picture of someone like that and posts it for all to see without their permission likely isn't telling the truth, and likely isnāt welcome at any business. So long, farewell, avidezne, goodnight! Nancyās has been around far too long for a couple of one sided reviews to influence peopleās decision to buy good chocolate.
Now letās take a stroll to the previous bad review where a customer went in with minutes to spare before closing. First of all, itās a respect thing. I imagine most wouldnāt want to stay later in the day when hours are clearly posted online and on the door. But like they said, most places stay open to serve them. šāāļøš¤“ Iām sure something triggered the employees to become āthugs.ā Maybe your children were allowed to shop unattended? Perhaps grabbing things and putting them where they donāt belong, pulling jelly beans that you might not plan to purchase, fingerprints on the glass? All of this combined with being closing time would cause a little frustration. I wasnāt there to see anyone thug out, but I have been there many times with my family, and she is a very sweet lady. So, there must be something more to the story that didnāt make the review. Or, you pushed her to a boiling point. I hope they install a chocolate river with chocolate extraction tubes to transport you disrespectful people out of the store before I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSomething smells fishy in the candy shop. My friend and I go here a few times a year because we like the chocolate. However today something odd happened. We both purchased our usual treats from the fresh made batches. In light of Covid weāve been trying to pay with exact change. My Candy before tax was $6.09. I had my money ready, minus tax, but was surprised when she said my total was $6.71. As Iām walking out the door Iām calculating the taxes in my head and I look at my receipt and I see TAX $0.38 (6.2%) and TAX 2 ...$0.24 (3.9%) We look at my friends receipt and she just has one tax showing on her receipt. I go back in for an explanation and Iām told first by the lady running the resister that she does not know why and that sometimes āthere are 3 taxesā on the receipt. WHAT?? She then asked to see my friends receipt. We showed her and she says itās because my friend got sugar free candy and I did not. WHAT??? As Iām still questioning her trying to make it make sense to me a gentleman that works there comes over. She asks him and heās just as baffled but after she mentioned the sugar free scenario again thatās when he agreed that was the reason. So thereās an additional tax on sugar now???? The store was pretty busy and I did not want to hold up the other customers any longer. I contemplated returning the candy on principal but I didnāt but I wonāt be returning unless this mystery can be cleared up. I checked Patrick County Virginiaās tax rates and it says maximum as of September 2021 (this month) is 6.3%. What am I missing? Can anyone explain this? Iāll be calling Virginiaās tax department for clarification on Monday morning hoping for a clearer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow after reading the one star reviews I am compelled to leave a review. I honestly do not know what the candy taste like because we were yelled at and rushed so I grabbed my kids some jelly beans and put as fast as we could. As we went out of the store and waited on the rest of our group one lady followed us outside to ask what was wrong. We told her nothing but this was not enough for her so she proceeded to tell us we must have a problem. I decided to tell her the truth that the way every employee yelling at us as we walked in the door was a little off putting. To this she responded I don't know why and how do you think we feel. It was 5 minutes till close when we walked in with a store full of other guests. Every place I have ever gone restaurant, grocery store, fast food stays open for guest to enter until closed and then politely ask everyone to make their final selections and head to checkout. Politely is the main word here. Rude comments that we have to do better coming in their store should have been the que to turn around and leave. To be thugs is how these employees are trained. Definitely needs new management and new better employees. Will...
