Kross Lounge & Ernie's Restaurant — Restaurant in Sugar Creek

It saddens me to write this review as we have been dining at this restaurant for over 40 years, but the last couple of times have seen a decline in food. We were in Wednesday evening at 6pm and only one other couple. We met another couple there and we all commented on how dirty it looked to start with. We ordered drinks and the server told us they only had one special left and if we wanted it she needed to let kitchen know. We didn't as we always order the Chicken Fried Steak. We start, one order of Chicken Fried Steak, two orders of Chicken Fried Steaks and then the server said no more Chicken Fried Steaks, we only had two left so we're out now. They have been know for this and they are out??? Well, we also wanted that and now have to order something else. We do and when the food comes out, even the Chicken Fried Steaks were only marginal at best. Mashed potatoes were runny, gravy tasted like dish soap, not worth the money we paid. Revised: Went back. Took my own salsa. Now I bump up the stars. They use a very thin taco shell, like 'La Tiera' brand. Lots of meat in the tacos. Stuffed well. $1 day is Thursday. Told her I had Dr. appt, and she served us quickly. Not bad at all, will return! I like to make my own home salsa. It's very easy, Even Mexicano joints often have mediocre salsa.

older: Went there on "Taco Day". $1 Tacos. The tacos good, but the service was awful. The main offense was asking for more salsa, then the server brought out Louisiana Hot sauce in the containers! Worst taco I ever had. Then my companion didn't have any mix in her margarit, just liquor. The tacos were good, just the sauce. Took a LONG time to get our food. I had to go ask where it was. I was not overly impressed. The food was pretty standard though my Moms Mushroom and Swiss burger was burnt and she had ordered it medium rare. My philly steak sandwich was just ok. The appetizers were tasty though. We had a trio deal of jalepeno poppers, broccoli and cheese puffs and fried portabello mushrooms. Very disappointed they no longer sell frog legs even though Google and the web ahow that they do. It was the only reason we went to check it out. The atmosphere waa ok but too dark in my opinion. The bathroom stall woyldnt lock and the floors were sticky. Great customer service though as our waitress was very attentive and prompt. Probably wont be back. 3 stars for great service and...
