Traveled almost an hour to go meet friends here for early dinner. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The drinks, too! Highly recommend the blueberry margarita and the spinach artichoke dip. My boyfriend got a steak and he cleaned his plate! It was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The service is another story. They absolutely should have at least had 3 bartenders working. The two girls did their best but they were in charge of the packed bar and the packed tables by the bar. They were swamped. I had 2 drinks prior to dinner, then my glass sat empty the entire time I ate and they didn't refill it until after I was done eating. Same thing with the rest of our group. We were trying to be polite about it, but it's a little frustrating when the bartenders look DIRECTLY AT your empty glass and still move on as if they didn't see it. This happened several times for myself and at least 3 other people sitting by us. One of our friends tried getting the bartender's attention, failing a few times before finally succeeding by approaching her as she was actively making another person's drink. Food was great and I hope the dining room service is better than the bar service. Maybe I'll go back another day. Biggest perk was the magician! He was super...
Read moreAfter our 1st day of hiking at Ricketts Glen, our group of eight decided to have dinner at the JCH. We called before they opened, left a message that we’d like a table for eight at 6pm. We received a call when they opened that our table would be waiting. We were promptly welcomed and seated promptly. Our server Michelle, was very friendly, pleasant, and on her game. Our meals were served together, so n one had to wait for their meal, which is impressive for a party of eight. The filet medallions were impeccable. They couldn’t have been any better. The mustard rubbed salmon was likewise delicious according to my friend and the smash burgers were equally delicious. The lone salad ordered was impressive, too. The JCH had a very good selection of wines, brews, and cocktails. And Tony the Magician was the icing on the cake for the evening. All eight of us said it was once of the best meals we’ve ever had because of the e great food, friendly, professional service, atmosphere, and entertainment! Every time we’re in the area, we’ll be...
Read moreDisappointed in this evenings experience. We’ve been there several times before and have always been happy with everything. Today was different. I ordered the butterfly shrimp and asked our waiter for melted butter instead of cocktail sauce. He said he doubted they could do that but since I’ve made that request before and it was never an issue, I thought he was joking. When he brought our sides, before the main meal, he got mine and my husbands mixed up (not a big deal at all) but then said sorry bc he was still thinking about my butter request. We thought that was odd but didn’t give it much more thought.
When the food came out there was cocktail sauce but no butter. I should have again said what I wanted but instead dipped my shrimp in the butter my hubbys stuffed flounder was served in.
We spent $98 and I can’t get a small dish of butter? How can that be such an inconvenience when you serve melted butter with lobster and obviously...
