Beardcat's Sweet Shop — Restaurant in Sullivan's Island

Upon walking in to the establishment it was clear that we were inconveniencing your employees for our gelato. One employee ignored us the whole time and never made eye contact during the transactions. The other employee who was serving the gelato reached her head into the gelato case and her ponytail dangled dangerously close to the gelato she was to serve to customers. While the gelato flavors were up to par, the gelato was too soft and it was clear that it was not kept at the correct temperature. One member of my party (me), wanted water, but the dispenser was empty. The tables had not been cleaned properly in some time as evidenced by the sticky residue and drops of melted gelato smeared across the arm of my sweater. As we exited the premise, the sarcastic tone in their salutation felt patronizing as they started laughing at us. Can’t all us girls just get along?...

When I came here with my husband, we were so excited to try a new place we had never been before! The reviews looked great and the shop was absolutely to die for. As we entered, there was a huge roach on the booth! Despite this circumstance we went up to the counter and ordered small and simple things. The girl working COMPLETELY messed it up and gave us very random and wrong things. As we went to pay, another one of the employees was giving us very dirty looks and she had the appearance that she just hated her job. I am very disappointed with the service here and I will NOT be coming back. To any IOP/ Sullivan’s residents, don’t waste your time on this abomination of an ice cream shop. It is so overpriced, you’re paying for bad service and roaches...

Didn’t know about this place that was right below OD! We wanted something sweet after dinner and it was conveniently nearby. Cute place with shop that sold some swag. Hubby got the Salted Olive Oil gelato since it was GF and I got the coffee. Flavors were on point, but the texture was just too soft. For me I feel like gelato is a cross between hard and soft serve. A nice firmer texture but still creamy and soft. This was almost leaning in a soft melted stage, but since I had it in a cone it was a bit difficult to eat. The guy did warn me about the cone breaking because he gave me a cup. The waffle cone itself was delicious, but thin. My cone completely fell apart as I got halfway and gelato was melting quickly. But again, as for taste...
