Amazing food, wonderful service, and très chique beach atmosphere! We came in from a day at the beach expecting a no nonsense seafood restaurant, but what we got was amazing (also considering it was for my birthday meal). We felt grungy and under dressed, but were treated like every other patron. We were quickly accommodated since we arrived before the dinner rush and we had our 15 month old son with us. The hostess even prepared the table for the high chair before bringing us over — maybe not huge to some, but that speaks class coming from the hotelier background. We ordered the Truffle Parmesan Shrimp and had two half portions of lobster and it was fantastic! Portions are generous in my opinion and for fresh seafood (that I also saw supports local businesses listed on the menu) you can’t beat the prices. For two we came out just over $100, but we wanted to have a great birthday meal and the lobster was perfectly cooked. I lived in Boston for two years and this is the best lobster I’ve had this south of the mason dixon. And to note, our server was courteous, attentive and anticipated our needs. The manager or maybe owner stopped by to hand me a new knife after my son threw mine, haha, and was incredibly personable. When on Sullivan’s, we...
Read moreWe were driving down Middle Street last night by Sullivan's Fish Camp around 6:30pm and a parking spot magically opened up a few feet away from Fish Camp. I said to my friend this is a sign! We immediately parked walked up to the hostess at Fish Camp and told her what happened. No reservation the hostess said to us? No problem! The bar is open for walk-ins! There were two perfect seats at the middle of the bar waiting for us and our adventure with the Fish Camp was just beginning. Head bartender Kelly was awesome. She crafted the best martinis we ever had with the delicious fish dip with chips and a variety of mixed sweet and hot peppers on the side. Followed by Heirloom Tomatoes, the largest succulent red yellow and green Tomatoes slices topped with a special sauce and finished the evening with the Fish Camp Sandwich, which melted in your mouth over the top gourmet food washed down with a second round of martinis. Thank you Kelly for making the whole evening for us. I highly recommend Sullivan's Fish Camp for great food Sullivan's Island relaxed elegant ambiance and over the top...
Read moreIf you looked up “great local seafood joint” in the dictionary, there’d be a color picture of Fish Camp. Not a lot of parking, but we did find space on a Tuesday for late lunch behind the post office in the beach lot. Plenty of golf cart parking right by the door, and space to dine inside or out. Mattie was an enthusiastic server, with both a great attitude knowledge of the menu. Sullivan’s Fish Camp is heading into its third season, she told us it was just Sullivan’s for 30 years before that. We had hoped for market price fresh fish, but had to pass on the Yellow Tile Fish because the Google told us there’s a warning out for Mercury content. Jeanette had the Fish and Chips, (beer battered local catch, coleslaw, pickled green tomato tartar, lemon- $24) and I had Swordfish al pastor Tacos, (fresh tortillas, salsa verde, charred pineapple, cabbage, and a wonderful street corn that wasn’t on the menu- $22). I paired the tacos with a couple of pints of Sullivan’s Crab Claw beer- an exclusive from Westbrook for Sullivan’s. 5% ABV and very approachable. If you’re out this way, it’s definitely...
