For her last big meal yesterday before having eye surgery this morning Pam was craving a hot beef sandwich from the Coffee Cup Cafe in Sully, we jumped in the jeep and off we went. I've eaten the hot beef once or twice in the past but sadly can no longer eat beef due to having gout. Pam's hot beef sandwich was off the charts in deliciousness as per usual, she's remarked more than once it's the very best she's ever eaten. I picked the tenderloin, as pork has no effect on me and I totally love it. Both meals were exceptional, which is no surprise at the Coffee Cup Cafe. I will be ordering another tenderloin just as soon as I'm hungry again. The meat was a beautiful golden brown and very tender, a nice cut of pork, properly prepared, the tomato was actually quite good and tasted fresh like it was vine ripened. I love the buns used on their sandwiches and the bread for the hot beef sandwiches, it's my understanding they're made fresh daily at a bakery in Pella, a Dutch town close by. I ask the kitchen if they could make my tenderloin angry by adding a handful of sauteed jalapenos which they did. I give this little off the beaten path cafe, located in a small Iowa town my very highest recommendation along with my coveted cleaned plate award. We've eaten here a number of times and have never once been disappointed. The Coffee Cup Cafe also offers a nice variety of fresh pies made daily, that are out of this world. Doesn't matter where you live, this restaurant is well worth the drive.

Read moreTruly phenomenal. Coffer Cup Cafe serves up food made with pristine care under a name made with brilliant alliteration. The tasteful, rustic atmosphere combined with extremely low prices will make a customer feel as though they've been transported back to simpler times, in the era before the tyrannical takeover of terrible chain restaurants.
During my visit, I ordered the cowboy burger with a side of cheese balls, and neither dish disappointed me in any manner conceivable. The burger was grilled to juicy perfection and the toppings were proportioned in meticulous equilibrium. The cheese balls were beyond scrumptious, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will return for more. More balls. I want more balls.

She checked on us regularly and was very polite. Ordered the reuben and fries. All was delicious and cooked just right. Coffee was also good. Pie is offered at the end of the meal. Wife had the chicken-bacon-melt with a pasta salad and said it was great tasting as well. We are coming back for breakfast since we heard they have phenomenal huge fluffy pancakes. Overall a good experience and...
