The food here is always awesome and they give you plenty. No matter what time or day you go in you won’t be disappointed in the price, quality or size of each entree. Unfortunately there is only one employee who has a great personality and makes you feel welcome when you are there. I don’t know her name but she recently had an ankle injury and was on crutches. She even worked while she was on crutches and then later in a walking boot. She always has a smile, answers your questions, and never gets impatient if you are having a hard time making a decision on what you want as a side. She will come check on you a bit after your food arrives to make sure all is good and see if you need anything else. A few of the others don’t even smile or seem happy that you are there. Especially the older woman with glasses who is snarky, rude and extremely impatient at times. Some never say thank you or acknowledge that you thanked them for taking your order or for bringing your food to the table. I understand that the job force is very stressful right now as many don’t want to work which has the ones who are working doing so much more than is normal BUT customer service is important. A happy customer is one who will return and will recommend to others who are looking for a good place to eat. I hope that the one happy employee rubs off some of her personality on the other employees...
Read moreI'm really sad. We've been eating at LA BBQ for many years and it has been in the top 3 of our favorite restaurants. We travel over to that area from time to time and LA has been our go-to place to eat everytime we go. All of the their BBQ is great. I usually get their chicken but their pork, brisket, and ribs are outstanding also. We live in Fort Walton Beach and usually take some brisket and pork home to eat later. Additionally, one of the big reasons we loved LA is because their side dishes were homemade and really good. That to me separates a great BBQ place from a good place. All of their normal and daily special sides were always very good. However, we went to LA a couple of weeks ago and my sides were not homemade. I had coleslaw and BBQ beans. Both were very poor quality. Tasted like they came from Walmart or Publix. I also got an order of black eyed peas from their daily specials. They also didn't taste good at all and I think came out of a can. It was very disappointing. We always look forward to going there but this time we left not sure if we will be returning. We are hoping that something might have been going on and they will be returning to...
Read moreWe enjoyed our meals at L.A. Barbeque. We ordered a chopped pork plate with potato salad and baked beans and a smoked chicken plate with potato salad and green beans. Both meals were served with a single slice of white bread. We ordered unsweetened tea with our meals and followed up with pecan cobbler and peach cobbler which we shared. Between the pork and the chicken, the best barbeque flavor definitely came from the chicken. The pork was lean and well prepared but did not have the smokiness of the chicken. We both enjoyed their potato salad but the baked beans and green beans were nothing special. The pecan cobbler was excellent but the peach cobbler was disappointing. Both cobblers had a small dot of whipped cream on top. Overall, the food was good but there was not a lot of it and an extra piece of bread on the plates would be good. Still, we felt satisfied and did not immediately feel the need for anything more at that time. It should be noted that the restaurant was extremely clean and spaciously arranged. In addition, the employees were friendly and efficient. L.A. Barbeque would be a convenient stop for a good meal if you're enroute to or...
