I don't understand the hype surrounding this restaurant and am surprised that it has a high rating. My family and I came here for dinner after exploring the national park. There were two big groups waiting outside, so I went in to put my name on the wait list only to find that they don't have/use/keep one (like, what?). I asked how they knew who was waiting for what and the bartender said "we just remember they're outside." I asked if the tables were basically first come, first serve and he basically said yes. Then I asked how would I know if a/my table was available for my party of four (since there was no host or waiting list) and he summarized that I would have to come back into the restaurant (periodically) to check if a table was available.
This is simply NOT how you run a sit down restaurant. I was very frustrated and disappointed by this. Anyway, since my party and I didn't feel like competing for a table with all the other waiting customers, we sat at the bar. The bartender was nice.
We ended up ordering some burgers, a chicken sandwich, and a pizza. It took 50 minutes for it to arrive. Considering all that we've been through, you'd think the food would be delicious, right? Wrong.
The burger isn't anything special to write about - it was a burger. The chicken sandwich was absolutely horrendous: dry, burnt, unseasoned, you name it. Took like three bites and threw it away. It was an utter disgrace to the food industry.
The ONLY reason this review has two stars instead of one is because of the pizza. The pizza was delicious and hands down the best thing we had ordered. Which is surprising because it's a BAR & GRILL. How can the pizza be better than their burgers and chicken sandwich? How can one fail this badly at cooking a burger and/or chicken sandwich? They're basic grill menu items, for God's sake.
In summary, if you decide to dine here, order the pizzas and stay away from everything else. Eat at...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed both the food and the location here, so it’s disappointing that I feel the need to share a negative experience. I brought my college friends to this restaurant while they were visiting the area over the weekend, and although we expected it to be busy, the issues we encountered went beyond simple delays.
Our server was noticeably short with us, rarely checked in, and didn’t return to our table for nearly an hour. It also seemed as though she wasn’t monitoring whether our food was ready in the kitchen. Meanwhile, another server seated a party of the same size 15 minutes after us, yet their table received their food and attentive service much sooner. This contrast was especially apparent since she continued tending to the tables surrounding ours while leaving us largely unattended.
I understand that the restaurant was crowded and that staffing challenges are common these days. Still, it was clear that some staff were carrying more of the workload than others, and as a customer, it was uncomfortable to watch. I even felt the need to apologize to my friends for recommending the restaurant in the first place.
To make matters worse, one of my friends was denied service because his ID was vertical, despite it being valid. If this is indeed the restaurant’s policy, a simple explanation would have been completely reasonable. However, the server offered no clear reasoning, which left the impression that we weren’t worth her effort from the very beginning. From that point on, it felt as though she had written us off, assuming we wouldn’t tip well. The lack of attention continued throughout our meal—no updates on our order, no refills until an hour later, and minimal interaction compared to how she engaged with other tables.
The food itself was excellent, as always, and I have no complaints about the kitchen staff. In fact, I wish I could have given my tip directly to...

She should have APOLOGIZED then THROWN OUT the burger and made a NEW ONE! she tried to bring back the same burger TWICE! Her response told me everything I needed to know about how she is running the place, she wasn't concerned with cleanliness and with the Hep concerns recently it makes me wonder what else she's letting happen. This entire conversation is completely absurd. I should not have a better understanding of how to run your business than you do. We stopped here for lunch before continuing our drive through Fayetteville. The place is very cute, rustic, homey. I thought we must have come at the perfect time because the place was empty. Anyway, sat down, looked over the menu and ordered then the waitress brought our drinks and appetizer (fried pickles-very overcooked but we ate them because we were starving). We decided on burgers, we ordered, waitress brought the food. Mine had a hair on it, I took it up to the counter and told a waitress there. (Our waitress was with another table, the lady that I spoke to, didn't catch her name, had short black hair and her kids names and 'You are my sunshine" music tattooed on her left arm). Anyway, she took the burger and said they'd fix it, so I sat back down. At this point I wasn't upset, things happen sometimes. She brought the same plate of food back to me! She said she removed the hair and replaced the lettuce. WHAT?!? I told her the hair was under the tomato and to that she said she could replace the tomato also. I told her to forget it! And take it off my bill! She never even apologized to me! I just could not believe that she was ok with just taking the hair off the burger and giving it back to me. When my husband went to pay the check it still came to $22! for his burger, fried pickles and 2 drinks! I will not go back to this...
