Very nice winery - truly a 'hidden gem' along Highway 60 in Mountain View, MO. My wife and I had passed by this place a couple of times - but today we were able to actually take some time and stop. We were not disappointed. Cathy, one of the owners, met us with a smile when we walked through the door. She proceeded to show us around the property. It was very nice, welcoming, and comfortable. We walked outside their patio - and were blown away. There is a very large fountain in the middle of several tables and chairs. Multiple seating locations overlook their crops. It is very peaceful and well appointed. We went back inside to start our tastings. We tried the majority of the list they offer - and were not disappointed by a single wine. I am not a huge wine drinker - typically prefer other 'spirits'. We spent over 30 minutes speaking with Cathy and Julie (their manager) about the history of the winery, their backgrounds, and a little bit of everything. They were both very passionate about their business and most importantly about their wine! My wife and I bought two bottles to enjoy at another time - and a glass to enjoy on the wonderful patio. My only regret is that we had to leave and missed the band they were bringing in for the night. Do yourself a favor - if you are ever travelling along Highway 60 in Missouri and find yourself in Mountain View - stop and visit Viandel Winery - you will not be...
Β Β Β Read moreWe were looking forward to trying this place. We are in from North Carolina visiting friends and I thought this was going to be another place that I went home and told everyone about like we have about other places on countless trips before. We seen the sign outside that said βNo Outside Food or Drink Allowedβ. Our friends 15 year old brother is severely autistic and will only eat things like McDonalds. So out of respect for the sign my wife and our friend went in first to ask if they would make an exception considering the circumstances. It was at that point that the host informed them that it did not matter. He then told her very rudely that his advice would be for her autistic brother to eat in the car. Safe to say with a response like that, with him having no empathy or not apologetic at all, we took our party of 8 to another local Mexican restaurant where we were welcomed and had a phenomenal meal. Itβs sad that in this day in time with such an awareness of special needs that an establishment is so stuck on their βrulesβ that they canβt respond with anything...

There was not a hello, how are you, etc. Just pointed at the drink like we were supposed to telepathically know that meant to dispose of it.
The presentation of the hors dβoeuvres and the igloo setup was nice and did tend to draw attention away from the sub-satisfactory welcome.
Our party did enjoy the food and drink, however we were told during our 2-hour stay that they would not over-serve after 2 buckets of (6) beer and 2 bottles of wine for a party of six celebrating a 40th Birthday, who responsibly had a designated driver.
Server was not overly friendly. Never received a βthanks for coming in today, glad to have youβ despite leaving the required 50+ Dollar gratuity.
Overall, we had a good time with our party, but other venues have better served and catered with a much more gregarious and...
