Great pizza! After multiple recommendations to try their food, I hopped on their website one evening to place an order. I made sure to place the order a couple hours in advance as I heard it can take a while to make these big stuffed pizzas. When I arrived, the place was PACKED. I couldn't believe how many people were crammed into the front of the restaurant. Most of the folks waiting were blissfully unaware they completely blocked access to the front counter to pick up orders. Many of these people had been waiting an hour plus for a table and had nowhere to sit and wait so they all just congregated in groups at the registers. It was a total mess. When I finally pushed through the crowd, I talked to someone about getting my order. They had me sign my credit card receipt then disappeared for about 15 minutes without saying anything to me. Nobody told me the status of the order, I was just left standing there in the crowd holding my receipt and never saw the person again who went to check on my food. The volume in the restaurant was VERY loud between all the patrons shouting over each other and the 500ish tvs blasting 80's hair metal. Finally after an additional 15-20 min wait, someone came out and brought me my order and I was on my way. The food was EXCELLENT. It was far better than I anticipated to be honest. The dough and sauce were just perfect. The quality of the food earns Klavons a 5 star review for sure, however, the front end staffs total lack of communication and overcrowded front end was a bit much. Also, with how far in advance your order is placed, there really shouldn't be any reason to wait even longer than your pick up time. If it's gonna be 20 extra minutes then that's what they should tell you when you place the order. Overall, I was happy with my experience but in the future I'll definitely anticipate the chaos and give extra time for my food to be ready than what they estimate. Definitely give Klavons a go, you...
Read moreWe came to Jackson to pay respects to my former brother-in-law, and of course, we were hungry.
A quick Google search for pizza shops showed us pictures of a stuffed Chicago pizza, so we had to check it out.
I'm not easily impressed, so when I say this place is amazing, it's no understatement!
Walking up to the place, the lighting is contemporary towards modern. Walking in, you're greeted with an intimate, darkly illuminated dining area reminiscent of a Vegas casino.
Pendant lights with LED Edison bulbs hang throughout the dining area, with can lights illuminating each tabletop. Small details like accent lights under the bar top and one table in the center of the dining room go almost unnoticed.
Video screens for games, music videos, sports TV, and open taps don't distract from the decor.
The background music is actually music videos with the videos playing on a four-sided inverted video pryamid hung from the ceiling, which was great for '80s hitmakers like Def Leppard and the Eurythmics!
We ordered the Meaty Meat Chicago stuffed pizza, adding pineapple. We figured it would take about forty minutes for that to bake, so we ordered the onion straws as an appetizer.
The onion straws were delicious, served with a zip sauce and we got a side of ranch too.
Our pizza came out shortly after we finished the appetizer. It was very warm, but not hot. They must have a process that allows them to get a pizza to the table without the long wait.
The pizza itself is delicious, and the sauce a little tangy; I like it!
After one slice each, we were full! We'll have lunch for days and that's after freezing some of it.
We're coming...
Read more(short version) Well priced pizza with very tasty ingredients. Our waitress (Des B) was knowledgeable about the brand and very charming. We are looking forward to future visits!
(long version) First time I and my wife have ever been there and we were both fully impressed. I heard from my co-workers that Klavon's has the best pizza in Michigan, I wasn't disappointed everything we had was high quality and very tasty. I haven't had every pizza in Michigan so I can't say it's the best in MI but I will say that we typically only eat pizza once a month or so and we have found a new spot which is worth the 45 minute drive. Our waitress (Desirée/Des B) was charming and knowledgeable about the Klavon's brand, I was extremely impressed by the history of the owner starting his first business at 17/18 and continuing from there. My wife and I were even more impressed when (Desirée) exclaimed how happy she is working their and how well they are treated. I would much rather pay more at a business that is taking care of their workers than less at a place that exploits them (we don't shop at Walmart). The price was surprisingly very reasonable for two beers, one Chicago style stuffed pizza, and one calzone it cost just around $50, this is a good price no matter where you go out for pizza especially having a higher quality experience. We are both looking forward to going back in the future. Keep up the outstanding work; a true treasure we...
