Everything was awful when my friends and I went there. Apparently their only staff was the wife, husband and grown, possibly disabled?, son as the greeter and partial waiter?.
We went on a Sunday and I asked about getting a margarita and instead of just saying they didn't have a liquor license specifically for Sunday and apologize for the inconvenience, I got to hear a total loud rant from the owner (the wife I guess) about Sumter laws and regulations and stuff when a simple no would have sufficed, I'm a customer, not your friend, I didn't come there to be your sounding board about unjust liquor laws FFS.
All of the food tasted horrible, none of us were pleased with anything we were served. My friends appetizer didn't arrive until her food FINALLY arrived and the guy literally just dropped stuff on the table, rather than place it down gently or with any kind of professional manners. All of our food arrived at different times so some of us had cold food on top of it tasting bad while we politely waited to eat until everyone could eat together .
The chef/waiter/husband person was touchy feely AF! I was already feeling bad that day then I had to go and deal with some strange man rubbing on my shoulder and back everytime he came by, until I lost it and snapped at him very harshly to knock it off since he wasn't picking up on my body language of yanking away from him to que him in that he needed to knock it off.
They couldn't split the bill for us initially and the bill was just chicken scratches with nothing itemized on it at all and it took forever to try to ring us up because the touchy chef guy couldn't read what was written and didn't know how to properly use the register until wife owner lady came out to do it for him when all we wanted to do was get TF out of there!
The entire experience was just awful anyway you look at it. None of us will ever be returning there and I can not fathom what so ever why they have the high rating on Google reviews. I wish I could give no stars. Just awful! Go anywhere else, literally any other restaurant in Sumter. We only went there, literally only went there because our favorite Mexican restaurant, Las Palmas is closed on Sundays. We will not make that...
Read moreThis is the second time I have had the worst experience with Angels. I called them at 8:30 and was put on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up and tried calling them again 10 times to have them not answer. I drove up there and got there around 8:50 and tried to explain what happened to the two wait staff that was there (short girl with glasses and guy with long hair pulled back). They were the most disrespectful people ever and told me the kitchen was closed down even though I had been trying to place an order since 8:30. The previous time I called around 8:30 and was told that the kitchen was already closed down. I would give them zero stars if I could. I truly think that the long haired guy and the short girl with glasses should be fired. Of course they will not get reprimanded for how horrible they were to me and they will keep on continuing to work there and ruin everyone's experience there.
It was the slackest way the situation was handled by them and I don't think there was anyone above them working up there who actually cared. I saw other to go orders sitting on the table so I know that I was just being lied to.
I hope no one goes up there and supports this restaurant and definitely hope no one decides to give any type of tip to those two on the waitstaff.
Zero out of zero stars. The waitstaff needs to be fired, they are the worst people I have came in contact...
Read moreThey have taken quite the dive it seems. To start with we had very stale chips with no salt. So they lacked flavor and were stale.
Meals I had the monster burrito w/ steak and chicken chilaquiles. Wife had some sort of beef and chicken burrito.
Both meals chicken tasted like canned chicken. No flavor, wet chicken, not to be confused with moist, super wet. Monster burrito had nothing in it. No onions or peppers or anything. Lots of hard fatty pieces. The only thing going for the monster burrito was the seasoning.
Literally the best thing we had was the salsa. Very sad to say as this place used to be pretty good. We hardly eat out which makes this worse as it was a date night. Mariachi does everything better and has more. Angles has been sumterized and gone down the drain.
I gave our waitress my card to pay for dinner and she looked at me confused. I then asked her if I had to go up to pay. She said yes. Mind you, we were the very first table and guess who cashed us out, our waitress. That...
