I went through the drive through for breakfast. Service was quick and the worker in the drive through (Iyanla) was so sweet when I asked her to explain why the meal I ordered was so much. I got French toast, eggs and bacon and an all star meal with grits and toast. I wanted OJ and fruit but ended up taking them off because the total was $37! Turns out they won’t let you substitute French toast for the pancake meal from the menu and that’s fine but they charge $8.23 for 4 half slices of French toast (2 pieces of bread cut in half). If you want to make a meal with the French toast you have to order the eggs separately ($2.56) and the bacon separately ($3.08). That brings the total to about $13 when the average for their breakfast meals are around $6/$7! That is crazy. Whats even crazier is that the toast I go with the all star meal looked to be the same bread the French toast was made out of 🤦🏾‍♀️ The food is good but why is getting french toast instead of pancakes so much?

Okay here it goes! Hands-down right here. Upon Entering Shoneys of Sumter it has a comfortable, clean, quiet atmosphere (not loud) & modern meets nostalgia scene. The team together all hosts with warm southern hospitality and serve us plenty of that food for the soul. The restaurant has been here serving our families of Sumter County and surrounding areas since it was constructed in 1972. This management company here now in the past few years updated our restaurant in this Sumter area prides itself on providing quality service and food to please any in your party. Shoneys of Sumter are presently active taking initiative, providing activities and service in the Sumter community. The food is made hot and fresh for us right to your family's round table, or the comfy booths. Another worthy option they provide us are for events or impromptu parties, offering their catering needs to our community, friends and familys. We Thank you 'Shoneys of Sumter'

Atrocious. Honestly I don't have high expectations, but this was bad. Grilled chicken wasn't grilled it was covered on margarine and inedible. The photo below was after five napkins to mop up I wish I had taken a before photo... It was glistening and soggy. Floor was so slippery with grease or wax or idk, that I pulled a muscle. At least one, time will tell there. Additionally the server didn't come over to see how we were or of we needed anything beyond the required drop offs or I would have sent out the food that was inedible. Maybe being out of town sets my standards to high, but highly unimpressed and sore.

I've never felt so disrespected by an employee. The unethical acts were already being displayed but I overlooked it because they aren't on my level in society anyway. The question is do the servers of the bar own the restaurant or do they purchase the product for the restaurant from their own personal pockets??? Who pays shoney's bills? The employees or the owners??? Or is the managers in charge for the running or upkeep of the business personal affairs in the long-term success of the restaurant on the left wing. I saw plenty of cross-contamintion going on but I held back because the state of society and I didn't want to make matters worse for those who's already experiencing poverty. But one thing I will not tolerate from a minority is disrespectful approaches and responses when I am spending government funds to support the cause. You have to be careful, how you entertain certain guest because I could be your payroll overseer. You don't control anything or anyone at shoney's but yourself, your behavior and your own actions under stress and pressure working at a lucrative business. If certain patrons presence offends you, then a public place of work isn't a good place for you. A fool can cost a successful business millions for malpractice. Get it together...cause we don't like whistle blowers, do we??? So I would suggest calling a meeting with the employees that works the floor 😞 ...and every now and then do a wellness check ✅...if they are feeling overwhelmed, send them on a brief break to exhale, breathe, reset and refocus. That's how you show love and compassion for the lessser, meaning inexperienced in...

This was supposed to be a wonderful Sunday breakfast with my children and grandchildren this labor day weekend. I travelled here to visit in Carolina. It was a bad experience from entering to exiting. The hostess was not very pleasant that seated us, then we just took whatever seat since she wouldn't allow us to choose with a party of 5. The Buffet Food was salty , there were no spoons in the food to serve yourself and there was an older lady there yelling at me and the other employees about ,,Wait Wait....there are no spoons... Clearly we could see that and couldn't do anything without them...she was rolling her eyes and being rude. When we finally got our food , low and behold the chicken was raw n bloody..😝😝 I made it known to our waitress so no one else would consume this...and get sick. The restaurant is entirely to small and tight areas to have a comfortable experience without having accidents of some sort. When we were leaving the restaurant the same lady that was yelling abruptly stopped us and I was exhausted by this time with the whole ordeal that was supposed to be a pleasant family time out. She said she was taking something off for the BLOODY CHICKEN, and took off $3.00 -$4.00....Wow...that's not even worth the nasty food and attitudes we recieved that...

My mom and I brought my dad on veteran's day so he could enjoy the free breakfast bar for thosewho served. It was absolutely packed! But the staff handled the crowd flawlessly! They were friendly, efficient, and things moved quickly. There was such a festive atmosphere that put the patrons in good spirits. There were many pleasant exchanges with total strangers that left you feeling like you had just been talking to one of your friends. The waitresses stayed busy and met every need and request with a smile. I saw several staff members refilling the bar so the food was constantly hot and fresh. It was a team effort and I give the whole staff kudos! It has been years since we have eaten at Shoneys... not because of any bad experience but rather because we just don't think about it most of the time. But for the same money as you would spend at most any other establishment, you can enjoy a wide variety and it's all you can eat, so we will definitely be coming back! Thanks again Shoneys for honoring...
