Under new ownership so the previous entry is there for historical purposes. Down home cooking can be found here in items like a meaty omelette, a really tasty sausage, eggs made to order, and a waffle that was crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside and served with fresh strawberries.Glad the syrup was served in a reusable metal rather than throwaway plastic--why not serve butter the same way and ditch the plastic and foil? Locals seem to really enjoy this place, and there are fun little touches like a chef statue showing off some daily specials, and a teapot collection. Although the outside is plain and easy to miss and still has a salad bar sign but no salad bar. It's worth a visit especially since the servers were all pleasant and added to the experience.A place like this would do well to cultivate the locals with something like a coffee club or some other loyalty program. There was a sign up about freshly made cinnamon buns so I sure would like to try one of those the next time and have the aroma waft around instead of the slightly disinfectant scent that greeted me upon entering. Previous: They don't know what a Belgium waffle is. Unfortunately I do and what I was served was not. It was a regular waffle with butter, and soupy probably once frozen gushy textured strawberries in sugared sauce. No whipped cream but fake maple syrup. Very disappointing esp. for $10. Friend fared better since at least the banana was a fresh one. Other friend got the blueberry and once again, not fresh berries. They should specify these are fruit sauces not actual fruit. The 2 bacon strips were crispy the way I liked them so that was nice. Advice for the owners; This should be a nice local hang out with specialties and homemade food that a retirement community populace just doesn't indulge in making regularly anymore, but if you're just going to open up frozen fruit packs, well, I'm quite capable of doing that, thanks. Foster the regulars by having a coffee club or some sort of loyalty program. Cultivate the locals and become The Place for them to bring their out of town visitors too. Add some local history decor, historical objects, etc. You're not a chain so celebrate your uniqueness and Sun City heritage. Research some favorite dishes from the hometowns of the residents and rotate them in. Have some fun becoming a...

a month or so ago on a Sunday morning, I was in the mood for a patty melt. it was good, no complaints. decent service, etc. a few days ago I was in the mood for breakfast. the iced tea tasted like spinach for some bizarre reason (perhaps it was stirred with the same spoon they used to stir spinach?) and the hash browns tasted like they had fallen into dirty dishwater and retrieved, towel blotted and placed on my plate. the eggs were rubbery. the only edible thing on my plate was the 1/2 slice of ham. the server was perplexed when I asked if they served butter or margarine/county crock and told me she wasn't sure but that it came in a "square". when my food arrived, the "butter" was just a sliced pat of "whatever" with what appeared to be a gritty substance on it. it was not in a foil wrapper as one may see in a restaurant. I immediately pushed the toast and unidentified square of who-knows-what aside. I spent $6 for a meal of which only 20% was edible. In a word, my breakfast experience at Bobbie's Café...
Read moreI don’t know what happened over the past year but this place is horrible! I was here last year before the shut down for breakfast and the service and food was great! Fast forward to last week. My other half and I decided to have dinner here. We came in at approximately 630 pm and were greeted by an extremely rude foreign woman.
She sat us and kept coming over every minute to see if we were ready to order before we even had the chance to look at the menu.
She kept constantly telling us that the kitchen was “closing in 30 minutes “.
We assumed that she did not want our business so we accommodated and left. What a difference a year can make! To top it off, the place now seems run down and dirty. New owners? Well, you can keep your third world dump. There are plenty of other places to eat around here with good food that appreciate...
