I used to love Suna. We'd go in all the time. The bartender and servers are awesome. While I truly understand post covid staffing issues, working in the industry myself, I do not understand the rude hostess at all. The last time we were in, we watched her seat two older women in the corner of the bar high top area that was very dimly lit. They requested to be seated somewhere else because they were clearly struggling to read the menu in the lighting. She would not accommodate them. Yet, we gave the benefit of the doubt thinking, maybe other reservations were coming to occupy the currently empty tables. We stayed until close and not one other patron came in. Those poor women used their phones for flashlights, when moving them around the corner to be a better lit table was an option. I cannot fathom why she refused to allow them to sit around the corner, ten feet away. Additionally you have to call repeatedly to get someone to answer the phone. It doesn't matter what time you call, no one ever answers. If you leave a message and actually get a call back from the hostess, she is incredibly rude and short with you. And don't even try and walk in, she looks you up and down, rolls her eyes if you don't have a reservation and very curtly tells you to leave. As I stated, Suna used to be awesome. Great food, great servers and a great local more upscale establishment, just a bummer that you can't get in with the rude hostess and need a reservation...
Read moreWorst experience in years To begin, we were seated 15 minutes AFTER our reservation time. Waitress appeared 15 minutes later. Drinks? Another 15. The promised bread and olives while waiting? We saw the manager cutting it up, apparently he doesn't deliver it to tables.. Food? Another 30. Food was good, not spectacular. DO NOT ORDER THE RAVIOLI. My daughter who did, received a plate with 4 - yes FOUR ravioli with a few spears of asparagus..all for $18! When we mentioned it to the waitress, she suggested we tell the manager, she then high fived my husband and said "I'll let him know." When he came over, he looked incredibly bored as my husband questioned the ravioli dish, then asked if we wanted any food, then said "Heard" and walked away. Could not have cared less. The waitress brought the bill and said "don't blame me, he didn't take it off" then when removing our plates promptly dropped the whole stack on the floor, creating a nasty mess. This was the worst experience we have ever had. It was not worth the interminable waiting and the extremely rude manager sealed the deal - do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, this place...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of taking my wife to Suna for her 75th birthday dinner. July 18 2024 party of 3 at 430. Could anything been better. I dont think so. Nina was our server. What a delight. Just wonderful. I'm a steak guy. I asked Nina is the 24 oz New York Strip gonna be great. She responded YES! LOL . I've heard that before. I'm 70 years old and I've got to say the meal that was put in front of me was a piece of culinary art. The first bite said it all. Every bite was like the first. Delicious. Tender. Seasoned to perfection. Thank you Nina being attentive and knowledgeable. My wife Margherite and our friend Eva both had the Filet Mignon. Just as amazing. Everything from appetizer to entrees were above great. We were so full we even passed on dessert. Thank you Suna for a memorable 75th birthday dinner. Oh and they also serve a 32 oz Strip steak. Next time for sure. And the picture of wifes plate had three yes three 4oz pieces of Filet Mignon. Steak and eggs the next morning. Will be back Suna...
