Terrible experience. Took my wife here on recommendations from the people running the RV park we are staying at. It was the wife's birthday so we thought we would spend a bit. Upon entering we were promptly seated at a high table. A quick look around and you see white paper signs stating a cash discount of 2.5% is included in the menu price. They were all over so I guess they really wanted you to know this! The waitress came to our table fairly quickly and we ordered drinks. They arrived in a timely manner and all seemed good. That changed once we inquired about the menu items and the special on the board. The waitress didn't know about what items came with what. She didn't know the pricing and left us to find out. She came back about five minutes later and told us the price. When my wife asked why it was more than the menu price she couldn't explain why? So I went with it and ordered one side (which was included on the menu but apparently not on the special). She came back after about ten minutes to tell me the side was not included. Huh? I told her I'll order something else whereby she left and then came back to inform me that the kitchen said "my steak was ready". I declined the steak and went with my wife's order of a BLT. This must not have gone over well because the waitress seemed to be very upset when she brought over the plates.

All in all the experience was not good. The food was just ok but the coleslaw was very heavy vinegar with slices of peppers mixed in with the slaw. Not good at all. I think my waitress was so new to the job that she just didn't know much. This place needs to spend more time training the staff. And with the problems we experienced, you would expect the manager to get involved. Didn't happen! We just dealt with the waitress. It was a disappointment to say the least. $40.00 for two BLT sandwiches, one draft beer, one mixed drink. Needless to say, i'd...

We needed a food stop on our 12.5hr drive home, through the open land. I started the search early and found this well-rated establishment, so, we plugged it in.

We walked in as a party of 2 around 430pm to a fairly busy (Sturgis Rally time), though well-staffed, dining room & were seated immediately. Service wasn't the fastest- but our server was informed, thorough, friendly & everyone stayed busy.

We were advised on ordering that there is only brown gravy now, vs country gravy for the chicken fried steak, and opted to get it anyways. That was a mistake- it really doesn't work together but they piled on plenty of brown gravy. I'd also bet those are pre-breaded frozen steak/patties with fillers, it's a sad looking plate that reminded me of school cafeteria Salisbury Steak. I'd suggest pulling the dish if they aren't going to go back to the correct gravy. Or use up the remaining steaks as chicken fried steak sandwiches, instead of as pictured.

On the flipside, my husband had a mighty fine flat iron steak - seasoned/cooked perfectly & the gal waited for him to cut in to verify that it was medium rare. His meal was far better than mine. I wish I'd gotten the flat iron & garlic mash, with no gravy!

The breadsticks could go out with the salads, in my opinion, or not even exist. They just kinda seem to be unnecessary. The ranch dressing was thick & tangy. The root beer had no bite, even though it was Bargs - probably could use calibration. The beer was a good pour & reasonable.

Overall, it was a mix of good & ok. This was definitely a better choice than fast food. Service was good but slow - most importantly: proper temps on the food & we were given the information needed to make our own decisions - I still...

I dont really recommend steak unless you like it on the medium to well side. They were very well seasoned but I'm a medium rare steak lady. My fiance ordered medium rare rib eye and that baby was well done. We didnt wanna make a fuss or anything but he didnt really eat it. Not sure if the kitchen was having an off day or what. Pretty warm atmosphere theres a bar and then multiple tables. I do wanna give them a shout out for having such clean bathrooms. Multiple TVs paint the walls with different sports, racing, and even a cooking show on. If we went again I would try their burgers because it strikes me more as a burger joint. I'd say their prices are a little high but their customer service makes up for it every single waitress was kind and attentive. Things that may be helpful to know, their coleslaw is like a pickled coleslaw not a typical mayo based coleslaw I'm pretty sure there was no mayo in it (it wasnt horrible but it also wasnt something I personally care for although it was cold and crisp which are one of the most important aspects of a coleslaw) they're french fries werent salted which is okay but I didnt care for their fries they were hard and not even the crisp crunchy hard on the outside soft on the inside kind of hard. Basically it's not that bad of a place and their front of the house staff really picked up where the kitchen seemed to have dropped the ball today. I would try them again but like I said I'd try a...

For being in the middle of “somewhat” nowhere, this place is legit. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Very pleasant and seemed to enjoy being where she was at that day. We had no idea what to get, so she recommended the French dip sandwich, which I believe was also their special. If I recall, their prime rib night was the prior night, and they use the left over prime rib to shave up and serve the French dips the following day. I would order that again no problem. It was very good. She ordered the chicken strips. They were good, but it’s hard to get them wrong as well. The fries however… we’ve had nothing like them before. It was almost like they were curly fries, but thick like a wedge as well. Those were unique and good as well. Place Elsa’s decorated nice and looks like a rear state was there for some weekend music when able. Not sure on this tho, but there was a platform that looked as such. They have an outdoor back area to sit in the same location as well. It was western and rustic decorated and you couldn’t complain about the ambiance. If you’re coming through this way, make this a stop.

This place is an amazing “hole-in-the-wall” local place that presents a “meh” exterior and a banging interior! The food took a little bit of time to come out to us but I understood why when it got there (it was HOT and fresh)! The portions were larger than expected which accounted for price on the menu. (I apologize for not taking pictures of the plate, they were so appetizing that we dove right in). The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. It took a while to get my cocktail brought out because after I ordered it, the dinner rush filled the place to the brim so I can’t fault them for that. The Wild West cocktail was amazing and John Taffer himself would be impressed! You MUST give this place a go when passing through! You won’t be disappointed!
