Will not be returning. Service was extremely slow, unattentive, and food was bland.
My boyfriend, best friend, and I attended the wine tasting event held on Monday and decided to stay for dinner after in the main dinner room. While the event itself was organized well, dinner was a disaster. After we asked if we could stay for dinner, the hostess sat us down. About 10 minutes later the hostess brought us waters, crackers, and butter (for what seemed like for bread, but no breasd) stating the waiters were busy. Mind you, the main dining hall was about 50% capacity.
After waiting another 10 minutes someone else asked if we had been helped. We replied no. He took down my drink order, I also ordered Escargot as an appetizer, my friend's order, and skipped my boyfriend and left. He never took my boyfriend's drink order.
I ordered the escargot and their dinner package which included a shrimp cocktail, soup of the day, and a side, I choose twice baked potatoe. The waiter asked if I wanted the soup and potatoe to come out together as a meal. I said yes, it didn't. Every item came out at different times.
When the escargot came out, the butter was gelatine like, it was missing parsley, they were not in shell (which fine), but tasted rubbery. They came accompanied with two small pieces of bread. I asked if we could get more bread, to which I was told there would be an extra cost. We said fine, we had been waiting a long time and were hungry.
After the appetizer came out, the person asked who our waiter was. We still had not been greeted by a waiter. Everyone who had helped us seemed to be "covering." And our drinks had still not come out (a glass of wine). About halfway through our appetizer, the person came back with more bread (ordered) and a basket of table bread (which wss never brought at the beginning), and finally our wine.
My "shrimp cocktail" consisted of 4 small shrimp in a small plate with a lime wedge and cocktail sauce on the side. Shrimp tasted bland, like they had just been unfrozen. Soup was ok. Baked potato came after everyone other meals had come out and was also just fine.
Will not...
Read moreThis review is for management and hopefully they will consider what is being written. To be labeled as a "Fine Dining" establishment, I expect a great experience with all the bells and whistles. This facility needs to be desperately updated. It looks like the last time anything was updated was during the 1970's. As of 02/17/2020, the building looks run down and not kept up. For example: Decorative trim ceiling tiles missing from/near the fireplace, the carpeting needs to be replaced, it is lumpy and worn. I have the same table and chairs in my own home, I was expecting more comfort and style. Attention to detail has not been addressed: steak knives are cheap and dull, not able to properly cut your food, dinner rolls look like they came right out of the package from the grocery store (not baked home made); wine bottle was at room temperature instead of being chilled, ready to serve. Also, wine bottle had the original price tag from the grocery store so I know there was a six dollar mark-up that was charged. Now for the food: My steak was over cooked and under seasoned (the steak was so thin, there was no possible way it could be properly cooked to my order), asparagus was woody, my husband's steak was served with raw sliced onion (no carmelization ), butter should have been served as whipped butter instead of being served the butter squares, the baked potato was presented/wrapped in aluminum foil (and not a lot of choices for toppings), crackers should have never been served instead of proper bread...
Read moreWent there for a birthday celebration 2.24.23. We called and made reservations for a group of 15. Apparently Chris, from the package liquor side did not inform the bar that we were coming for lunch. The female waitress was overwhelmed and told us she could not accommodate us because there was no kitchen staff or food for that size group, which doesn’t make any sense to me, especially if they are advertising on FB that they are open for lunch. We gathered up the empty tables and made the seating room for ourselves. The female waitress did not come to over for at least 20 minutes. We decided to write down our food and drink orders ourselves. Finally, she came over and we handed her all the orders. It took her another 20 mins to get us our drinks. We went up to the bar and got our own drinks. The place was not clean. The bathrooms, especially for a fine dining restaurant, were disgusting. The food was great, as always. We made the best of it, but will not be back for lunch. Find another place for lunch and forget about Billy Crews. You will be sorely...
