Silver Lake Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Sunriver

We were traveling late and looking for food. As we pulled up I parked my rig in front of the Cafe. I looked to see if I was blocking anyone when a guy with a Mohawk came out and said “We’re open! Come on in and watch the ducks game!” I said I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t blocking anyone and he replied. “I don’t give a shit if you’re parked straight across! Come on in and get some food!” So we did.

We walked into the bar and then were told that the kitchen was closed. Bummer. We were getting ready to leave when a very nice lady came out and said. “I hate to send people down the road hungry, do you want something simple to eat? Like chicken strips, corn dogs and fries?” Hell yes we replied. They took us to the dining room and took our order. Corn dogs or chicken strips. My girls all got chicken strips and I got corn dogs. The food came out and it was hot and delicious. The staff was all so friendly. They were all already off for the night but stuck around to feed us. My girls had a great time talking with the local kids.

They literally saved us from starving. There isn’t anything else open out there at 9pm and the great food and the company was something we will talk about for years. I imagine when the girls are grown they’ll talk about the guy with a Mohawk who called us into the bar for them to open the kitchen for us. What a fantastic place and...

My wife and I stopped in here on our way home to Bend from visiting the Summer Lake Wildlife Sanctuary. The outside appearance belies the quality of the food inside which is fantastic. My wife and I both had BLTs, which took a while to make, but were worth the wait. They were the best BLTs we’ve ever had. There was a homemade cake on the counter which turned out to be carrot cake. Since we were both stuffed from the sandwiches and big fries, we took a piece to go. OMG! That cake was beyond delicious! Just the right amount of not overly sweet frosting and delicious moist carrot cake. Prices were about the same as Bend, but if that place were in Bend, it would be packed every day. This is a slice of Americana, something out of a magazine, stories are written about places like this, characters are drawn here...its like walking onto a movie 🎥set with gourmet quality, home spun hand crafted food to the nth degree! The biscuits and sausage gravy melt in your mouth, the 1/2 LB🍔 hamburger is delicious being cooked on a flat top as it should be, the Bloody Mary is out of this world with a delicious tang and go ahead, get yourself a Margarita 🍹too, the mixes for both are house made and Oh soooo 🤌🤌🤌good!
