Had some pre-high hopes for this place considering who the restaurant group is that owns this establishment. But I can say with all honesty that the food here is nothing like the food at any of the other places. I had classic eggs Benedict with some kind of breakfast potatoes And a Coke. It took well over an hour to get my food closer to an hour and 20 minutes, but that wasnât even the beginning of the issues. The beginning of it all was trying to get into the place. The hostess stand was a place of chaos none of the people working there seem to know what theyâre doing, they resembled a gaggle of chickens running around with their heads cut off. Anyway, as I said about an hour and 20 minutes later, (two other tables left without getting their food) I got my food which was ice cold. ice cold. Let me say one more time ice. cold. So I didnât really eat them. I brought it all home so that I could heat it myself. Anyway, pretty sure the hollandaise sauce comes out of a bag and those weird breakfast Potatoes werenât terrible. Theyâre just werenât very many of them. mostly they just resembled french fries that are cut differently. I donât know if Iâll go back or not. People say things like give them a chance to iron out the kinks, but this isnât the first rodeo for this owners so that excuse doesnât fly. But anyway, this isnât too surprising given the location. The food in this area is pretty forgettable. No matter whose brand is plastered on the menu. Lastly it is very noisy there.
Edit: changing rating from two stars to one.
Second trip there and nobody in my party could eat their food this place can close any time now. The deviled eggs were so bad I could hardly even eat them. Tastes like salt and vinegar. and the gravy on the overcooked country fried steak was out of a can. It wasnât even properly heated. It was still gelatinous. And when they say âseasonal vegetablesâ, they mean boiled squash, which was disgusting. A little bit of seasoning would help something that tremendously. But no. And frankly there is no excuse for this. This is restaurant is owned by a larger restaurant group that is very successful in the Phoenix valley so why this ugly redhead stepchild of a beast exists? who...
Read moreFirst visit. Made dinner reservations for 6 on line - earliest time for our visiting family of 6 was 7:15 pm. Seated promptly upon arrival in a very noisy table by the bar. Requested, if possible, to move to the other room and they graciously did it as there was an open table and much quieter.
Initial impression of the remodeled facility was impressive - best ever after living here for over 18 years1
Staff and waiter were very nice and obviously appeared a little bit uncertain about who was to do what (might have been our own misconception).
Appetizers deviled eggs and onion rings that were very good. They were out of requested main menu item (Fish and Chips) but was late in the day - understood. Dinner was also OK - meatloaf, smash burger, shrimp skampi and salad.
Glass of white wine was apparently incorrectly selected by the bar staff and it took over 10 minutes for have anyone with authority return and make the correction. This person (manager??) agreed and replaced it with the correct wine. (Probably should have removed if from the bill due to wait time but not a big issue). Bottle of Red Wine was OK.
Shortly after our dinner was served, several staff members began sweeping and moping the floor while we were dining - very, very tacky! However, later on we found out that they were closing a 8 pm? Why accept us at 7:15? We wanted to dine a 5 pm but that wasnât available! When questioned, the response was âwalk-ins were welcomeâ. Definitely need to adjust reservation system.
Remembering that this operation is brand new, we will be returning sometime in the future. Our initial impression was not very good and we would not have been proud to take our out of town guests there at this point in time.
Minor point - signing up for their âFrequent Concepts Rewardsâ was cumbersome and not recognized by staff or the online system.
Overall, our $200+ dinner experience...
Read moreMy wife and I went to this restaurant on Saturday morning for breakfast. Our server's name was Serena and she was really great! My wife had the biscuits and gravy and I got the breakfast burrito. The food was well made and reasonably priced. Serena offered us some white peach iced tea and it was delicious! My wife and I liked this place so much that we decided to go there for lunch a few days later. However, this time we did not receive as great of service. My little one wanted to get the kid's grilled cheese sandwich, but she does not like American cheese, so I asked the waitress if they would make it with cheddar. Without even asking the cooks, the waitress stated that they wouldn't be able to do that. Knowing that they do have cheddar cheese and not believing her, I told my little one to order something else. Then I asked for a peach iced tea and the waitress told me that they do not have that. I explained to her that I was there just a few days earlier and was served peach ice tea by Serena. She said that Serena works in the bar area and has special mixers there for it. So, I asked her to ask the bar to make me one and she said she couldn't do that. At this point, I had enough of this waitress's "can't do" attitude. I asked to see her manager. The manager came to me and said that they will make the drink but there will be an up charge for the peach syrup. I explained that it was perfectly fine with me, I just wanted the delicious drink! In conclusion, aside from the "can't do" waitress, everything else was great!! We will be returning, but I will be asking for Serena's section...
