The Pit Stop Koney Island — Restaurant in Surrey Township

I have never written a review on Google for anything like this but I am flabbergasted by this establishment's disregard for human beings. I came in with my mother who has metastatic cancer and desperately needed a bathroom due to this. When we were entering we saw the sign which said that only customers could utilize the bathrooms, despite as others have said this being illegal, we were willing to pay however this was an emergency. The girl behind the register walked over to her mother who is presumably the manager/owner and asked if we could get the key before we actually had paid to which she rudely declined. At this point my father dropped his card on the counter so as to pay for whatever we needed which was received as him "throwing" it at the cashier. At this point we were just begging for the bathroom and we're willing to do whatever was needed to get my mother the relief she needed however we were kicked out after this perceived slight. I genuinely hope that the cashier never has to go though the same embarrassment that we endured at the hands of this establishment. I am begging you to learn and grow from this and reflect on how you treat your fellow man.

Paid $13.41 for an olive burger and Mac and cheese. The olive burger was fine. I was excited to try the Mac and cheese because the cashier highly recommended and they made it in house. It was a large container (about 1lb) super excited. There was NO FLAVOR. It was just hot noodles and melted cheese. No butter, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, nothing. I tried to call them, but there is no number? Only an email. So I sent one. With the cost of the Mac and cheese being the same about as the burger ($5) I was extremely disappointed. 4% upcharge for debit / credit cards which they won't tell you until they take your card. You need to have a working number and a way to contact people instead of us just leaving bad reviews which will mess up their Google metrics. I was really hoping the food would be good, but it just wasn't.

UPDATE: Let them know. They would not refund the $7.11 I did not see a "no refund" policy anywhere and heading into the door there is a $3 charge to use the bathroom as that's illegal in the State of Michigan under Michigan's...

Came to Michigan to visit family in Flint and Manistee. Saw the Pit Stop on the way over to Lake Michigan and decided to stop on the way back. Husband and I were greeted with smiles and I was happy to see they served Koegel’s!! We each had a coney, fries and drink. Sauce was spot on for a Michigan coney and everything was fresh and hot. Entire staff (family owned) was courteous. The restaurant and restrooms were extremely clean. As another review mentioned, the restrooms are locked and advertised for customers only. That reviewer failed to mention that the restroom entrance are on the sidewalk, outside the main restaurant and need to remain locked for security purposes. I personally appreciate the extra caution taken with the locked doors. The Pit Stop does charge a 4% surcharge for CC transactions.
