I have to agree with Kenneth's post, the one prior to this, regarding the price of a waffle cone.... I really wanted one, but $2.50 just for the cone itself ($3.50 if it's chocolate dipped) is a lot. However, looking at just their gelato, there are so many amazing-looking varieties here, so it was hard to know how to choose. In the end, I tried the Mystery Bag option and was pretty pleased - 3 Smalls for the price of one ($6).... they were all pre-packed in small containers, all put in a bag. So, I walked down the hill to Surry's beautiful (and quite peaceful, on this foggy/rainy day in June, with all the lupines in their glory) harbor, and opened up the Mystery Bag, to see what I might see and taste what I might taste. Well, the three flavors were Black Raspberry (the best - mild, fruity, smooth, delicious), Strawberry Cheesecake (pretty good, with that distinctive cheesecake taste) and Lemon (unusual, but very good - with lots of actual lemon bar chunks in it!). It made for a generous afternoon snack, and was so enticing that a harbor seal bobbed up out of the water to check out the treats. A worthwhile visit!! (sorry I didn't have any gelato pics, but these lupines were showing forth their beauty right across the street...

Spent a beautiful day in the town of Surry , Maine today. everything was great UNTIL I got an ice cream at pug nuts. First I couldn't finish the whole thing due to the fact it left a slimy taste in my mouth like milk of magnesia crossed with soap .I don't know.. but made me sick as hell ! I'm not sure what kind of artificial ingredients are being using , but it is definitely not a quality product I would not go there or recommend anyone else to . Ive been a professional chef with 30 years of experience in some of Maines finest resorts and eateries so im pretty sure i know about quality . the staff was very pleasant and happy . Upon leaving a review on thier Facebook it was deleted instead of being addressed . I was blocked 🚫. Doesn't sound like quality...

This is my children's favorite ice cream shop in the Blue Hill/MDI area of Maine. Homemade creations made on site. I believe my favourite is called Puglicious which is reminiscent of spumoni to me. I travel back and forth to Maine for 1 week a month and stay longer in the summer. I've been faithfully bringing my children and husband home their favorite pints including Cotton Candy and Lavendar Honey. Great quality ingredients and a favorite year-round. Their premium chocolate chip cookies are hands down one of the best we have ever had! Cannot wait to try one of their beautiful ice cream cakes. Very cute setting in an old general store at the Surry Crossroads. Pints are available at several area grocers. Please continue...

Driving back to Blue Hill we stopped at Pugnuts in Surry. We waited in line to place our orders. Obviously, with COVID-19 restrictions in full blown effect we didn't experience Pugnuts in all its glory but what we did experience was delicious! Everyone I was with placed there orders and I wasn't expecting to get anything because most places don't offer sugar-free or no sugar added options. I was pleasantly surprised that when I got to the window they had three Keto ice cream flavors, which meant they had no sugar. I ordered the chocolate and coffee. They were both so rich and creamy. Everyone I was with enjoyed what they ordered too.
