I JUST ordered from Stancati's for the first time. My back went out yesterday so I can't cook for the family, nor jack knife myself into my car to go fetch a fast food dinner. My mom mentioned that Stancati's delivers and my decision was made. I ordered a large Supreme, as well as a calzone. The delivery arrived in around twenty five minutes, was piping hot, and the driver was very nice.
The food was fantastic. I ordered a calzone for myself, expecting a rather small crescent. This thing was enormous, easily three meals worth, and the container of sauce on the side was actually enough to cover three meals. It was stuffed with cheese (mozzarella and ricotta), pepperoni and sweet peppers, and was luscious. The sauce was fantastic--flavorful and not greasy.
I ordered a Supreme pizza for the family, hold the mushrooms (I love 'em, the family hates them--Philistines) and it was, again, huge. The dimensions for the pies are listed on the menu but somehow, perhaps accustomed to what constitutes a 'large' at most chain pizza restaurants, I was wholly unprepared for the whopping size of the thing. Seriously--it was like looking at a big beautiful, topping-loaded manhole cover. I almost swooned. I'm not kidding about being 'topping-loaded'; the pie was generously covered with cheese, thinly sliced onions and peppers, pepperoni and sausage, with more of that lovely sauce. Every mouthful was delicious.
To make a long review short, the meal was fantastic. This was my first time ordered from Stancati's but assuredly won't be the last. If you're in the mood for Italian at a GREAT price (my order was $23 and change and we got SO MUCH FOOD--multiple meals worth) you must try Stancati's. That they deliver was a godsend for my currently locked up back. Five enthusiastic stars for...
Read moreStancati's is a family owned restaurant with excellent food and reasonable prices. Service is excellent. I highly recommend them. Their Italian hoagie is outstanding, and they have excellent salads, too. However, decisions are being made by the owners that are really harming the restaurant. First, note that they are only open Tuesday through Friday. Closing time was recently changed from 7pm to 6pm. By itself , this would be tolerable. However, they routinely close between 3 and 4pm during the summer, because of their grossly inadequate air conditioning. One waitress said that temperatures is the kitchen are routinely between 90 and 100 degrees. So, they close. Definitely call before you go. This is a good restaurant that could be a great one, it the owners would provide adequate AC for their staff and customers. Until that happens, call before you go, because they've probably closed...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in for the first time today because we heard the food was good, as we were standing inside waiting for a table the lady looked at us kind of shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know where you're gonna set guys" oh and I forgot to mention there were empty tables apparently she was to busy to clear it for us to set down. Oh well lesson learned will never...
