I am very disappointed in El potrero restaurant in Swartz Creek my family went there to day to eat and celebrate my daughter's birthday. When we entered we were told only 6 could set together and two would have to just set nearby. I explained that it was my understanding that up to 10 people could sit together as long as the other tables or booths were 6' away. The waitress said "no, we have our tables set up to be 6' away and our largest table seats 6. When we were told that we all needed to have masks on as we stepped in the door. Two of our family were unable to tolerate a mask and we're putting them on when we were taken to our table. No one was sitting in the dining area when 6 were seated at the table. 4' down from that table was a small table for 2 that my husband and I were told to sit. They would not allow us to slide the small table up to where the others were sitting. When it comes to masks, I totally respect the rule of wearing masks. If you don't wear a mask I have no problem but don't insist as an employee to wear a mask if you yourself are not wearing one. Two different waitresses brought food out to the tables with their masks pulled down under their noses and 2 different waitresses had their masks pulled completely down under their chin's while putting orders in at the computer. Like I said, if you as a worker don't wear a mask I have no problem with that but don't insist or belittle someone who cannot. It will be sometime I'm sure before I go back into El potrero to eat. Very rude and unaccomodating even with...
Read moreEl Potrero in Swartz Creek lost so much business last night! We have a group that goes to dinner most Friday nights, 10-15 people. All of us order a meal and most have at least one margarita. So 20 plus a person or so. Well tonight the waitress told them it was a dollar upcharge to get a strawberry margarita, they agreed. The regular one was 9.99, so 10.99 right? Bills came and the margaritas were 16.99! So they pointed it out to the waitress, and she said let me get my manager. Manager comes over and flat out tells my friends and family that they have always been 16.99 and that was the price. Did not care that they have been going there for YEARS and have never paid 16.99 for a strawberry margarita, or that his waitress told them it would be a dollar upcharge. I do not know one single person that would agree to pay 7.00 for strawberry flavoring 🤦🏼♀️ things escalated a little…so one person went up to talk to the manager calmly to try and explain what happened and was basically called a liar, and that there wasn’t a waitress there that would have charged them only the 10.99. So it was decided that they would pay this time and never be back. Managers response “I don’t want you back” 😲 Pretty sure all that was needed to keep our business was a simple ok we will honor what our waitress told you when you ordered your drinks, but next time know they are 16.99. Sure he would have lost some money on that sale tonight, but not nearly as much as he lost by losing...

Started out with the complementary chips and salsa. Salsa is always flavorful and fruity. Chips are always warm and crunchy.
I ordered a side of chorizo and queso. The queso here is slightly runny but still flavorful. The chorizo while good is not fried enough to my liking. Still flavorful but it is not crispy in any way shape or form before they put it into the queso.
Tonight we had our go-to meal of fajitas for two. The platter of meat and vegetables comes on a sizzling fajita platter. The platter itself was large enough to actually feed four people with three medium-sized fajitas each. The platter comes with rice and beans along with your choice of three of five potential sides. My go-to is lettuce cheese and tomatoes. The vegetables and meat are fried properly and steak is crispy and gets even more crisp as it sits on the fajita platter that still is sizzling when it arrives at the table. The lettuce is fresh and crunchy The cheese is a good blend. The rice has very good flavor. The tortillas that come are flour and they taste exactly as you would expect.
Tonight we tried both of the margaritas on the rocks and frozen. The margarita on the rocks is about as good as it can get. The frozen margarita however has significantly more alcohol and therefore the flavor was a little bit...
