My husband and I figured we’d stop in for lunch while we were over this way (we live an hour away) to try them since we’ve heard fairly decent things about Frog Hollow. When we walked in there was a 6 top who was, at that moment, getting their food served, and 2 people at the bar. We seat ourselves at a table and wait a few and finally get menus and our drink order taken. She comes back with our drinks and we’re ready to order at that point which she takes our order. A little while goes by and the owners mom brings my husband his food and she questioned if I was on a diet or something since I didn’t have food. I told her that I placed an order for a dozen wings and fried pickles and she looked confused but said she’d go check on it for me. She leaves and then goes up to the lady who took our order and stage whispered to her that she forgot to put my order in. The mom comes back over and says that yall are out of fried pickles and I told her that’s fine, I’d just take the wings, no big deal. At this point, no one has told us that my order was never sent back to the kitchen. We wait a while longer, at this point it’s now an hour from when we placed our order, my husband has his food in front of him, waiting on my food to get there so we can eat together. I’m beyond annoyed at this point since it was about half an hour or so from when the mistake was realized. Husband goes up to the bar and asks the lady who took our order how much longer for my food, she said it’d be out in just a little bit. I watch her put the order in when he walks away. I get up and say I want the check and boxes for my husbands food and that I’ll go get food elsewhere. At this point, the mom comes up to the bar and asks what happened and I explained. She said she refused to let me pay even though I was happy to do so since it was the right thing to do. She still refused payment. Over an hour of placing our order and me STILL not having my food, wings at that… the mom was trying to offer to box them up for me to take but at that point I didn’t even want them and was hungry so we just left and went elsewhere. Aside from this catastrophe, it’s a cute little place but I just can’t recommend...
Read moreI live down the road never been here. Saw they were struggling decided to pay them a visit. I place an order online for a value bundle and 2 additional appetizer. In the comments I made sure to ask for marinara sauce for my mottz sticks. Also ordered my son onion rings.. show up to get the order lady says hi and keeps making her drink. Takes a few mins then she walks around a minute til I'm like scuse me. Order 25.. she grabs my good and says good day. I get home and I didn't get my onion rings and I didn't get sauce. I call the bar and tell the bar maid I didn't get my onion ring. She says hold on and slams the phone down. 2 minutes later she comes back on yea we're out.. .I ask for a refund. She again says hold and slams down the phone.. 8 minutes later she hung up on me as she picked up the phone. She then rejected 2 calls and answered my 4th after the 15th ring. So I ask again for a refund and put on hold 20 minutes. She then told me theirs no manager today so they can't refund my card. I said cool I'll come get the cash. She says no we can't do that.. I get mad and tell her I'll just stop payment on the card. I'm petty. I will gladly pay a bankfee to be made right.. well then a manager calls me and says she'll make it right tomorrow and I said OK. She said she would try to get me a gift card or something but I totally refuse. The manager then called me back to tell me even though she's sick she went in to refund me. After I hang up my kid sees I'm p.o.'d n didn't eat.. he says here try a fry.. the fuggen thing is raw. Its still half a potato. This was my worst experience eating out in almost 43 years. So sad because I literally live right...
Read moreBeing the only actual "bar" bar in Jonestown, it is the best. No annual membership fees, unlike the nearby competition is a plus. The choices on the food menu are many. Although personally the burgers (froogy is my go-to) are all good. Dinner items ( starts at 5 I believe) are decent. I myself wouldn't choose frog's for a supper time type meal. You find steak chicken as well as some seafood dinners to choose from. Lunch type items are the strong point here. Drinks are average prices and fair. Expanding the deck, and I believe making that now covered area smoking permitted, is a great move. As of now the deck portion is yet to be finished. Weekends with a DJ playing a mix of styles to dance to offers a night club vibe. The place has certainly came a long way from "back in the day". Looking for a bite to eat and a drink? 4 stars. Dinner with the kids?2.5 stars. Kid menu available, but who takes the kids to a BAR for dinner? Staff is friendly as is the owner. I would reccomend it for a place to go except if you want filet mignon cooked medium rare with...
