Spoleto's Pizzeria & Wine Shop — Restaurant in Sweet Home

Came with friends. Told them all about how wonderful it is. Was my favorite pizza place, and I don't even live in Sweet Home. Ordered the Safe Haven, our normal go-to pizza. It was so greasy it looked like the sausage wasn't even drained before putting it on the pizza. A huge puddle under every slice. We even spoke to one of the cooks. He agreed it was terrible but offered no suggestions other than staffing issues. That was a couple months ago. We attempted to give it one more try last night. As we walked in, someone was placing an order at the counter so the waitress just handed us menues and said she'd be right over. We sat down in the back and watched others come in. We were never waited on. After 15 minutes we picked up our menus, sat them on the counter on the way out, and went somewhere else. That's my last attempt. My favorite pizza place is no more. This was the best pizza I’ve ever had! We’ve lived and eaten in Washington, California, Montana, Alaska and now Oregon and travelled the country dozens of times and this was THE BEST! The building is unassuming and a little older but very clean. Our waitress was kind and attentive the whole time. We never went without. The portions were big! Every single bite was delicious! The jalapeño dip with homemade focaccia was super good! The cheesy bread was cheesy and gooey and flavorful! The calzone was stuffed full, cheesy, crispy and not soggy. We were so impressed by everything including the prices. Everything was homemade and cut fresh. If we didn’t live almost 2 hours away this would be our weekly spot. We were in town for a cheer competition and I’m just sad we didn’t know about it years ago! But we’ll be making a special trip back...

The pizza was quite good! I had the BBQ chicken pizza. Came out hot, crispy crust with no soggy bottom, good toppings. My only complaints were the chicken was not tender, it was cut with the grain so it was a little tough or chewy and the bacon was thick cut bacon bits so again chewy. Also way too little sauce, it was there just not enough for me. The service was very average. Never got a water refill and took about 20 minutes to take my order with about 15% occupancy. Also took a long time to get the check. Atmosphere was a bit dated, saw a couple small holes in the wall. The bathrooms also were missing a bunch of letters the men just had an "N" and women had "OM N". If nothing else is open at 8pm like it was for me, stop by for some decent pizza, otherwise use your...
