Down Under — Restaurant in Syracuse

when i looked on the website, it clearly says "restaurant" so my boyfriend and his parents rode our motorcycles all the way from Fort Wayne to this place. come to find out it was a bar only. they of course asked for our IDs, i was honest and said i didn't have mine on me. that waitress left and had another come up and tell me if i'm not 21 and have no ID i cant stay, being on a bike i had no where to keep anything so i left it at home. they refused to allow us to stay even though we had told them the circumstances. i was trying to inform the waitress what the website said and to maybe look into it so this doesn't happen again. that waitress snapped on me and told me not to get upset that it was not her fault, i reiterated that i was not upset i was simply trying to tell her the website did not inform us it was a bar only, or i would not have gone. i thought the waitresses were rude, and had other staff do their dirty work for them. the part about me not having my ID and being under 21 doesn't upset me, its the way the situation was handled that i am writing...

The food is good and they have good specials. However, the last two times I have been there the service has been horrible. First time we were seated in a short amount of time and it took the waitress over 20 minutes to greet us at the table and offer drinks. Response for paying the bill was the same. Second time I was there we were able to seat ourselves. Service was good at first, half way through our meals we were forgotten about. Drinks were empty for over 15 minutes and the waitress would walk by every table checking in on them besides ours. As we went to pay we had to wait at least 10 minutes and finally I flagged down another waitress and asked for our bill. This took another 5 minutes for her to arrive with the bill. I understand this place can get busy, so maybe invest in more wait staff? Or maybe it's just bad luck on the booth we sat it in, as it was the same booth both times. Either way I am very dissatisfied with the service...

The concept of the place is really cool. You have to walk into a gazebo building and walk downstairs. It is nice that it is a 21+ place so you’re not sitting with families and screaming kids. Besides that, it was nothing to rave about.

They were out of the tenderloin which was fine since we found other stuff to eat. The appetizer came out quickly and was good but food took 45+ minutes. For 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich to take that long when a larger party came in 30 minutes after us and got their food first seems a little odd.

Burger meat had a very weird taste. The chicken sandwich looked VERY similar to the chicken tenders that Neighborhood Fresh sell in their deli (no joke, we had that for lunch before coming here). Overall, the place itself was cool but everything else...
