We came here on a whim and wow! Roc Hopper Brewing Company puts Syracuse on the map. I started with a flight of mostly pale ales and was so impressed with the quality and variety I had to try the rest.
Their pale ales are all fantastic and I specifically enjoyed the sour pale ale. Their German style beers were spot on and reminded me of my time stationed there. Their fruited ales and hibiscus gose were all very flavorful and unique.
And that's just the beer...
I wish we had the appetite to try more of the food but we did enjoy the sausage pizza. All of the flavors were well balanced and kept me looking forward to the next slice. All told, we're looking forward to the next time we're in the area so we can try more of their food.
The ambiance was very clean, crisp and modern. I stalked their Facebook while we were there and it looks like they recently renovated. The walls are decorated with one of the owners family members artwork, most if not all for sale. And for a quiet little town, the place was very lively. We're from the Omaha area and, hear me, it's...

The Beer is exquisite . Did a taster, but Letās talk about the sour IPA or hibiscus gose. ā¤ļø going against the crowd and doing beers like this is what makes them special. So much I ordered another one To-go. Also since Iām a damn vegetarian and they catered to that! Even made a dressing that was vegetarian to go with their Ceasar salad. Courtney and Ursula were amazing and took care of our every need. Glad my in-laws took me in and Iāll be back next time Iām on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were super excited to visit this brewery and drove an hour + to get there but had such a strange experienceā¦.
The beers were good - I started with the beet gose and my husband had the turtle honu porter. We ordered some fun Halloween themed food they were serving and enjoyed it.
The space was beautiful aesthetically with thoughtful details like lotion in the ladies room and those toilet paper holders that double as a place to set your phone.
But the strange part was that we couldnāt shake a feeling of being unwelcome. The servers hardly smiled, to us or each other, and made no attempts at conversation. We havenāt experienced anything like it and wonāt be returning.
Maybe itās just a localsā place? But if they want to grow, they need to be a heck of a lot more welcoming! It felt like something bad had happened and we stepped in at...
