Recently, my family and I went out with friends to enjoy a karaoke night. It was meant to be a simple evening of music, food, and fun. The atmosphere was lively, and it also happened to be my son’s birthday. He was excited to sing a song with his mom — and they did a wonderful job together.
Afterward, he asked if he could sing another song. What should have been a lighthearted moment quickly turned sour. Instead of handling the request with kindness, the owner responded in a rude and almost confrontational way toward my wife. That one interaction instantly changed the mood of the night.
The experience was a strong reminder of an important truth in business: customer service isn’t just about policies, it’s about people. Every guest who walks through the door is more than a transaction — they’re part of the atmosphere that keeps your business alive.
Not every request can or should be granted, but there is always a right way to say no. A polite explanation, delivered with respect, can go a long way. A harsh or dismissive attitude, on the other hand, leaves a lasting negative impression. In our case, it turned a joyful birthday memory into a disappointing one — and ensured we won’t return.
As business owners, we should never underestimate the power of how we treat people. Customers may forget a small mistake on their order or a technical hiccup, but they won’t forget how you made them feel. Respect, patience, and kindness cost nothing — but they can...
Read moreI really can't say enough good things about this place and the owners! :) the owners and staff are very friendly. The cabins are super cozy, clean, and the beds are comfy! The screened in porch on the cabins is a really neat thing too. The restaraunt on site, Piddle's Place is AMAZING! It's my favorite place to get a burger! (Although all of their food is delicious if you aren't in the mood for a burger!) The breakfast they are now serving is yummy too! You will truly feel pampered when you stay here. :) I've been here multiple times and every time is a great experience! Karaoke night is fun too! It also has very pretty scenery and is conveniently right across for the lake. Don't waste your time going anywhere else for your...

Actually, for 5 years, I have taken my own drink to every single restaurant with no problem. After WLS, you can only have very specific things. I explained this to her, and she still made me remove it. Needless to say, I had no drink for our meal.
Cajan Eggrolls were overcooked and full of grease, but the flavor was good.
Seafood platter says it comes with alligator bites, only found 3 half inch size bites on the entire plate. Food was OK but again, very greasy.
Needless to say, I can not recommend this place to anyone and...
