Let me preface with the fact that I used to LOVE Red Moon. The food and atmosphere used to be great! This time around, the tables were set up in a bizarre pattern, the younger waitresses weren’t dressed professionally in my opinion and the whole experience was severely lacking.
When we first arrived, the tables were all dirty. No one seemed to want to start cleaning them unless someone came into the door. Keep in mind we were one of two tables at this point. Multiple waitresses were gossiping across the restaurant to each other loudly. I’m all for having fun on your job but I feel like patrons don’t need to know all of the drama about your friends and family while they are trying to have a dine in experience. Our waitress was the only one who dressed professionally. Everyone else either had sweats on or hoodies. She was very kind and attentive! She is one of the stars in this rating. I didn’t catch her name sadly. Red Moon has the potential to be a fairly nice establishment with the modern red lighting and open floor plan. I remember the team used to look like a solid unit but they seem to not care… I guess I have higher standards for professionalism and atmosphere but I digress. The music that was being played definitely didn’t match the atmosphere and the ads that were being played were odd. One of them being about foot fungus… My husband and I both ordered cocktails and sushi. Our cocktails only tasted like canned pineapple juice and the sushi tasted old and slightly warm? The tuna looked dry like it had been sitting on a counter for a period of time. The wasabi looked brown in some places. My sushi had avocado, which was weirdly warm (nothing was cooked in mine) and brownish. The only food that we truly enjoyed were the dumplings, this is star number two. One of the cherries in the cocktails were rotten…Nothing about tonight’s experience was what we had grown to love about Red Moon. It has gone drastically down hill. Another issue was the fact that our ticket said $65 and some change when we received the ticket at the table and then once we got up to the front to pay, one girl took the ticket to the back for some reason and our waitress came back to the front with it. We noticed at the end that they changed the prices by nearly $10. Our whole experience, food, and drinks were not worth $75ish at all. Very disappointed and probably won’t go back for quite awhile. Jenny is always so sweet, so it really pains me to make...
Read moreI ordered the sweet and sour chicken from the kids menu for lunch. It was listed online for $6.99 with a drink. The waitress charged over $11. I asked $11. for a kids meal? She said yes. I told her that it was advertised on the website for $6.99. She said that they do not have an online menu. I told her that oh yes you do. I pulled it up on my phone and she said no it is somebody else. I told her look, there is the picture of the restaurant right there. You do advertise online and you are misrepresenting your menu. She argued again in front of 3 dine in patrons waiting to pay at the register. No fortune cookie, not a surprise after that. Chicken was greasy, rice was supposed to be fried rice but it looked like it was just colored yellow with chicken broth and tumeric. Horrible experience. Staff representation terrible. As if that wasn't enough, I had to get the child something else to have for lunch. This was supposed to be convenient. I would like to add, that I tried this place after it first opened maybe 6 months or so. I was dining in with my friend, a Chef by profession. I ordered some tempura shrimp dish. The flavor was way off, fishy tasting, not fresh, and greasy. Rice was the same as this time, fake fried rice. When I asked for the manager to tell her that the shrimp had a bad taste of fishy, she checked with the 'chef' in the kitchen and the answer came back that no fish was cooked in that oil. That's when my friend commented that the shrimp is in the seafood, fish catagory so....they didn't cook any fish items in the oil? Uhh what? I took a doggy bag, I told the manager I was going to see if my dog...
Read moreNice Atmosphere with Very Good Food! The lady that seated us, (I assume owner or part of the family) is a hoot to talk to. Really nice lady that obviously enjoys what she is doing. And that friendly take care of the customer attitude was also reflected in the wait staff. Our server (according to the receipt was Canida.) A very nice young lady that did a great job! The décor of the restaurant is new clean and modern and atmosphere in the restaurant spacious and relaxing. We had the General Tso’s and the Kung Pao Beef. Both were ordered medium spicy. I like it hot, so I could have went a little spicier on the General Tso’s. I did ask for some Sriracha to kick it up a little. The Generals Tso’s was pretty average; lightly batter chunks of chicken thigh meat, in a sweet spicy sauce. It was mixed with a few chunks of red and green bell peppers, onions, and carrots, with a side of fried rice. It was good and a good portion, but the sauce was a little sweet and thick for my preference. But, again it was good! The Kung Pao Beef was good likewise. Lots of vegetables! What really stood out was the beef in this dish. Not typical! It looked like steak that that had been seared and then sliced thin and added to the meal. It was tender and delicious. They have a full bar and a sushi bar. A great place to eat...
