Wow! We found a jewel of a restaurant, Southern Food. We got there around 2:15 pm. They Close at 3:00 pm. on Sundays. Food and services was great! I think it's family owned.. but not sure? I got the chicken basket with yams. There was only 1 big piece of chicken. (It was really big) They asked the cook in the back, if she would make me 2 piece of chicken wings, she did. Thank you so much. Wow! Fresh chicken wings & fresh crinkle fries, & yams. Yum! Worth the wait. They would of given me more wings if I wanted, I said 2 pieces was enough. Buffet style My husband had that last big piece of chicken,black eyed beans, dressing with country gravy, & collared greens, plus yams. As for dessert, he had banana pudding, he said it was Oooh Sooo Good!! My husband talked with the owner, he said they been open for about 18 month or so? I know when we arrived at Mama Mac's. There was a crowd coming out. They even said it was good food. If we head towards Cheaha State Park. We will definitely stop at Mama Mac's in Ashland AL. Everyone was so friendly.
