Denny's — Restaurant in Tallahassee

The Waitress was the only good thing here! Honest review about Denny's. I had not been to Denny's in a while, so decided to visit one on a trip outside of Tallahassee, Florida. It was HORRIBLE! I Entered at about 9:15, served at 10:05 meal minus pancakes, tgey came 10 minutes later. I was told they had many call-in orders from food delivery. Eggs were not cooked properly. One had a cream-colored yoke (not orange... old?), other was overcooked and not over easy. We ordered 2 of the Pic-4 slams with coffee ($3.50 @ 8oz) and a 99¢ fruit cup and pancake, up-charge in the price. The Beacon was thinner than paper and the sausage was pencil-thin. The portion of meat was 2 and not the typical 4 pieces. The fruit was good and delivered within 10 minutes by the waitress.

• The breakfast Costs almost double, to the penny, of a similar better breakfast than that of Cracker Barrel from the day before.* The waitress was nice but the manager was a "Don't care" guy. When the waitress showed him an overcooked egg and then said something was wrong with the cream yoke egg.. he scuffed at her and said they were 2 eggs and acted angry. He brought eggs to the table, dropped them, and walked away without a word. Also no words at checkout. DENNY'S IS OFF MY LIST OF STOPS! To others... ALL THOSE PRETTY PICTURES OF FOOD are Pro-Shots to get you in... do yourself a favor and go Elsewhere. I am a Tyre 8 reviewer(not bragging, just a show of how many reviews and places I go to and review at Google... of those, Denny's was one of the worst. Take it or leave it, I will not recommend Denny's regardless of ads. 2 STARS

1 - $$$$ OUTRAGEOUS... about $3.50 for a cup of coffee. $20 breakfast per person cheapest SLAM with drink! 2 - Quality... One Egg was undercooked and had a very light cream color yoke (unnatural cream colored and my thought is old eggs). The other Egg was an oranger yoke but cooked over-hard instead of in the over-easy order. 3 - Time .. for there at 8:15, served at 9:10 but took another 10 minutes for pancakes. 4 - Management was NON-Existent. The manager dropped precooked eggs at the table and said "Here" and walked away. At check out, he said nothing at all. Upon checking out he never said a word or offered an apology for the long wait, the bad egg, or the mess up on cooking. Again, far from a friendly caring management.

Horrible experience... DO NOT...

Went for dinner on a long road trip with two of my kids 15 & 13 so not small or loud kids. Servers seemed to not want to be at work, we arrived @ 9:30 were not greeted at all in fact were ignored completely while they cashed out other customers then presumed to count monies in their drawer. We stood for 5 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. Finally we were brought to a seat, she was annoyed we didn't already know what we wanted to eat even though she just sat us...we were never asked if we needed a refill on our drinks and I desperately needed more coffee, as I paid for our meals I asked for a to go box. They both went and waited on several other people instead, we ended up having to sit back down and wait for a box. We waited an additional 10 minutes for the box that was literally tossed onto our table as they walked off. Keep in mind there were only 2 other tables of patrons in the place at this time. Very unfriendly workers here sadly. I'll make sure not to stop here again on my next trip. The entire time we were there not one employee cracked a single smile, and they were extremely slow as a business so they should have been able to be a bit relaxed. Even though the service was subpar to say the least I still left a 35%gratuity hoping maybe it would lift their spirits for the next gusts. Giving this place one star is too generous for the level of service that we received. The food was good, but the service by our waitress was abysmal. I ordered a sirloin steak with red mashed potatoes and corn. I received a salmon steak, fried potatoes and corn. I eventually got my sirloin steak, but I never got a steak knife or my bread. My wife ordered decaf coffee (which took a half-hour to get). She also ordered soup that was delivered cold with no spoon. The waitress never came back to check on our status or refill our drinks. I might note that the waitress never wrote our orders down. She tried to rely on memory, which apparently was non-existent. I actually thought that yesterday was the waitress's first day of work, but I learned that she had been there for awhile. When it was time to pay the bill and leave, the waitress was nowhere to be found. We walked to the cashier and asked to speak to the manager, but we were advised that the manager was not there. The waitress eventually saw us standing by the cashier and she brought our bill to us. We have been on an extended road trip since New Year's and we have eaten over 100 meals in restaurants since we left home.
