I really contemplated posting this, but I feel it's very important as I don't think the mngmt/owners know.
We arrived at 11:30am today for breakfast, as breakfast was done at noon. Grandma and I came early to let them know, to let the staff know,, the rest of the group would be in 15 minutes later and there was a group of 12. There was two people in the bar area, and there's two people eating breakfast. We asked if we could have these two larger tables & Gayle, the waitress, asked how many of you are there going to be? My 94-year-old grandmother and I said "12, but they're not here yet." Gayle hollered, and said "Well at least you could have called!" to my grandmother. She stormed away stating "I don't even know if we have enough food!" and didn't let me explain that that's why my grandmother drove my car over, instead of riding on the pontoon. About 10 to 12 minutes later my sister and the rest of the group arrived. They were carrying their coffee cups, which were already empty. The plan was to get them refilled for breakfast, after we leave, which had been done before. Gayle, the waitress came over immediately without asking anything and exclaimed to my sister, "That is very rude, bring your own coffee in here!" My sister tried to explain that the coffee cups were empty or mostly empty,, and we're bringing them in just to refill them, and they've done that hundreds of times before.. She exclaimed well that's still very rude as if perturbed about something else but wanting to take it out on my sister. My sister, my twin brother left as they no longer wanted to eat and felt like they were putting the service people out. 5 to 10 minutes later Gayle came back and yelled at my sister-in-law "where did those other people go, what do they want?" My sister-in-law explained that they had left and weren't going to eat. All in all the food was great but this took a very festive and celebratory morning...
Read moreOur first visit here was horrible. The server was less than enthused to get off her barstool to wait on us. To be fair, I do not know what she had to step in to get through her day. The whole vibe seemed very cliquey. Not very welcoming. And this was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Our meals were prepared and served. They had a fish fry. Reasonable I suppose, but given the first part of the experience, I may not give it as high of marks as I should. The food that was supposed to be hot was hot, and that which was supposed to be cold, was cold. Now I haven't completely written the place off, I will return and hope to give a much more favorable rating. But this 1st experience was less than appealing. UPDATE; Since this visit, I received a nice email from the proprietor of Banns, offering explanations not excuses. This was nice and redemptive. We have returned a few times for breakfast and have found the food and service to be above average. So, thank you to the folks at Banns for reaching out, and trying to rectify a bad experience. I now strongly recommend...
Read moreNever written a poor review in my life….. Walked in at 1:00 pm with a party of 12 for my sisters 40th birthday. Had said to the group how cool this place was to everyone from a previous visit. There were five people in the whole restaurant at the time of arrival. We were scoffed at right at the door for bringing in a party of 12 without calling. Totally understand if it was busy, but seriously?! Nobody is here! Then tried ordering a round of six shots to cheers the birthday, the bartender (blonde hair) gave the most obnoxious head roll and literally groaned like a dying animal from by the request. Again, place is empty.
Stay away from this place unless you are a local who comes here on a daily basis. They don’t want anyone...
