Honestly The Yellow Deli is not really somewhere that I plan to revisit often. The food & drink options just arenāt really anything that Iām interested in eating while dining out. Not saying that the food & drink options there are not good choices for someone; but there is not a ton of different options on their menu & what they do offer, is not anything that I want to eat. I am certain that for someone else, the menu options that they offer are probably perfect & taste great! Itās just not for me, but their customer service is always really good & they all try to be really attentive to & always speak to each of their customers. The employees that work there are always smiling & they all seem super nice & always working really hard to make sure that their customers are happy. Itās a little weird how they handle the walk-in/take-out orders though. Anytime u go inside to order, but u donāt want to actually dine-in & plan to quickly order ur food & just get it to go, u should not be in a hurry because it is not going to be a quick in & out.. For some unknown reason, when u order food for take out, they still make u come all the way in, then u have to be seated at a table, wait to have a server come over to ur temporary table to take ur order & so on. It just seems like a whole lot of extraness, especially when ur in a hurry? It makes the whole deal take soo much longer then it really should need to & it would have to be a lot faster if they would just go ahead & take ur order up front instead? The Yellow Deli is an extremely clean, beautifully built, & meticulously maintained restaurant in the area. The building itself is my favorite thing about visiting the place. I love everything about the whole āatmosphereā, in general. They went above and beyond on literally everything inside.. from the floors, to the booths, the stairways, & just everything, all the way up to the ceilings, itās incredible. The entire place looks like something out of a frigginā magazine. I would recommend for anyone to give them a try, at least once, & see how nice it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt says on the menu āWe love you,ā and that is the exact vibe the restaurant offers from the moment you arrive. I initially visited The Yellow Deli because of some negative publicity Iād heardābut Iāll be forever grateful I found the opposite to be true. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. We arrived on a Sunday at noon, right as they were opening, and although there was already a small line, we were quickly seated. During our very short wait, we enjoyed free popcorn and mango mate.
Once seated, we found the tables were spaced out and the noise level was minimal, which we appreciated. The decor is very unique and everything was spotless. We dined on the chicken Alexander, two Reubens, a āmake your ownā (a Reuben on pumpernickel), a bowl of tomato basil soup with artisan bread, cheesy jalapeƱo cornbread, root beer in a frosty mug, carrot cake, cream cheese pie with strawberries, sweet potato pound cake, banana bread, and a peanut butter cookie. Everything was delicious, and we could truly taste the love put into each item.
Before we left, we shopped in the store next door and purchased some delicious breads, handmade soap, honey, chow chow, and a cookie. The staff in the store was also extremely helpful and friendly. Weāre already planning a return visit and looking forward to trying some of the same itemsāespecially the sweet potato pound cakeāand exploring more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat atmosphere. Loved the atmosphere and the ambient lighting. Clean bathrooms and amazing decor throughout. Food was disappointing. Could not eat the Deli Rose sandwich. The sauce on the sandwich was so sweet and sour and destroyed the taste of the roast beef. My wife ordered the a la carte buffalo chicken sandwich. This was absolutely not buffalo chicken. Not sure why they would advertise this as buffalo chicken. They need to google what that means. Ordered the papaya juice. Yikes, not sure where they get this juice, but ive had fresh papaya and papaya juice when i was teaching overseas and this was not it. Papaya juice is sweet and smooth. This was so sour. The only things we actually enjoyed were the pickles.
I ordered double meat but did not receive itābut they didnt charge me for it, so thats fineā¦but still. :/ They also didnāt charge me for the bean sproutsā I did receive.
As we were leaving, I inquired what variety of bees they are selling in their apiary, and they had no idea. I was actually interested in getting some new bees this season. What is going on??
I loved their use of the dumbwaiter. Parking was ridiculous. Had to wait for the 2 cars in front of us to maneuver out of their really tight spaces. Oh well. Interesting experience but wont...
