To Go Review: The place doesn't have the best looks from the outside, but the inside is welcoming and spacious. They have partial outdoor seating as well as a fully inside. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We got the mix plate, with all things pictured for $7.50 total. They have the typical fixings (jalapenos, spicy salsa, onions limes etc) there available to pack for to go, as well as a station with a variety of chips to take as you want. Just keep in mind they stay out in the open so they may be stale. Not a big deal but nice that they offer it anyway. The tostada was tasty, as well as the enchilada, beans and tamale. The taco was basic and the rice was a little on the bland side. Overall, I can't complain because it's a great value.. very worth the price and the owner is very kind, so go support and give them a try!

Home made rice and beans and simple food plates. I appreciate everything about this place. From the owner’s hospitality to the simple self serve of chips, salsa, queso and drinks. It’s not your typical restaurant though…so if you are looking for wait staff, it’s not for you. What you will get is an honest owner keeping his momma’s place alive. Just walk through the door, go to the window with the menu over it and the owner will pop over to take your order. While you wait, go grab your chips, salsa and drinks and have a seat. It’s a great experience. I even had the pleasure of conversing with Mack and getting to know him better.

We had an amazing experience at Carmen’s Place. Self service chips and dips with all the fixings as well as drinks. Super inexpensive and delicious food. The owner is now Carmen’s son and he has amazing stories to tell about the place. Feels like a step back in time, in the best way. We felt like VIPs as he offered us free dessert (but I have a feeling he makes everyone feel like a VIP😊). Wish we came here sooner. Go support local & keep good ole places like this alive!

I am not one for giving poor reviews as I try to find the good in a restaurant, knowing how difficult that career can be. However, I cannot let this experience slide.

I've travelled to all states west of the Mississippi River accept Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alaska. Never have I experienced such poor Mexican food. All the pictures being posted are not what I experienced. The refried beans tasted as if it was from a can and reheated, the rice was dull and bland, and the chicken in the quesadilla didn't have much flavor. I've been to a Mexican's family home in California and the food was the absolute best Mexican I've ever had. Also, having just finished my career in hospitality, restaurants and hotels, the housekeeping team had excellent Mexican food. This place didn't even come within...
