Volatus Wine — Restaurant in Templeton

My wife and went to Volatus based on reviews and we are adding 5 star. Daniel our wine guide was fantastic. Great knowledge of wines and the Paso Robles area. We went on a Wednesday so we had the tasting room to ourselves. The red wines were full bodied and are drinking very well now, and will age nicely. The last winery of the day on a recent Paso trip was Volatus Wine, with former Navy fighter pilot/Topgun instructor Hal Schmidt as owner and winemaker. The intimate tasting room had lots of navy memorabilia and although we arrived close to closing time, Tina graciously served up stories and great wines, all with memorable names (Bloody Well, Boys are Back, Long Way Home). Challenge accepted to go through the military alphabet!

Whoa! What a wonderful and personable experience when you visit this winery. Their wines are five-star with each having its own distinct flavor and quality. The owners Hal and Victoria are wonderful and engaging and make your experience a friendly family felt visit. I highly recommend that you visit this winery when you're in the Paso Robles area.
