My partner and I stopped in for dinner for the first time about an hour before they closed. We both ordered the pulled pork, baked beans, and sweet cornbread, he got the coleslaw, I the potato salad, the cheddar & jalapeño sausage link, and banana pudding.
The good:
First, walking in, the restaurant had a nice vibe to it. Everything was clean and organized, fairly empty. The service was wonderful. Very friendly, helpful, and patient while we chose what to eat. When I asked if they closed at 7, they offered to stay as long as necessary so we could enjoy our meals inside rather than carrying it home. We opted to eat in, but were done before they closed.
Pulled pork- tender, moist, and plentiful. It had very good flavor, especially when topped with their house-made BBQ sauce (which were in free-for-all bottles).
Sausage link- perfectly cooked, the skin popped when poked or cut into every time. The cheese was melted, the jalapeño's kickin'. Delightful, second favorite part of the meal.
Baked Beans- tasty! Would have preferred a little bolder flavor to compete with the meat and sauce, but they were a good choice. Hard to go wrong with good beans.
Potato Salad- delicious. Good flavor and texture, crunchy celery, potatoes weren't overdone and mushy, nor were they underdone. Perfect.
Sweet Cornbread- sweet indeed, but just the perfect amount. Moist, baked just right. Paired well with the rest of the food.
Banana Pudding- incredible. 10/10 knock your socks off. Reminds me of grandma's from way back in the day. Favorite part of the meal.
The bad:
Coleslaw- I wouldn't even say it was bad. The flavor was pretty lacking, it was missing that ✨️zing✨️ one would expect, but it was still good. This is the only thing I could put down here.
The ugly:
Absolutely nothing.
This place was great, and we'll definitely be back. Price was more than fair for overall experience and amount of food. Their meat trays are the way to go for a hearty meal that won't...
Read moreI visited Smoke Brothers Kitchen on November 30, 2024, with my wife and father. I had the brisket, with potato salad and baked beans. My wife had pulled pork nachos. My father had pulled pork, baked beans, and coeslaw.
The portion sizes are impressive, and the prices are VERY REASONABLE. The meat was amazing. The beans seemed canned but doctored up. This isn't to say it was bad. Lastly, the potato salad was tasty, but you better like pickles, as it seemed to have a heavy pickle flavor.
There is plenty of parking. We visited around 2 p.m. so it wasn't busy. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were very friendly.
I will definitely stop in again when I am...
Read moreSuch a great find on our way home from LBL! The food was excellent! Great little eating spot coming out of the hills. It's pretty open inside. Really nice build out. Clean, neat, lots of room inside. Staff is so nice! Food was excellent. Came out in a timely manner. I had the pulled pork and hubby had the brisket. We ended up getting some of the BBQ sauce to take home because it's one of the best I've had! We will definitely be back because this place is really good. Good price for the food you get....
